Not always. Mostly the fairings are designed to skoop up the air when running and direct it towards the engine/radiator for better cooling. The only place it might suffer is in traffic jams. A bike with air skoops in full fairing might run cooler than the same bike without fairing (the bike shouldnt be stand still )

True, what also needs to be seen is whether HH uses the same block as the ZMA or has extra large fins.
I feel that this bike will be totally different in character to the usual ZMA. They must have played around with the gearing and the torque spread. I liked the new fairing minus the lower part. it looks quite aggressive.

not just to cool the components a slotted\layered fairing offers much better look!! HH installed one plain ugly stickered monolith fairing!

BTW ,This bike will sell no matter what everybody thinks. Price might be the only factor. As always, the touring capabilities are going to be unchallenged even if it has the same power.

Wrong guess, as far as I know the export markets get the P180 and P200 and which are no different from the ones sold in India.

Hey kaka, that site isn't a great source for authentic news. By the way, the weight mentioned there for the new ZMR is 165 Kgs.

I read some where here in this thread itself that this bike is Oil coooled (or oil is cooled). But not sure if we can find radiator anywerhe.
Exhaust is same, but matt black.

Sad part is that, There are no pics of the bike from other side. Does it have kick??

                      • Got tired of reading at 50% of this thread. Now for my two cents:

1)The only parameter the ZMA lacked in was fuel efficiency. Which in all probability will have been addressed to a certain extent in the new bike.

2)Design has always been subjective. No points to be won/lost here.

3)Specs? I have learnt from life that its best not to keep hopes for certain things lest you dissappoint yourself when they get shattered.

4)I think the rear WILL be a signature statement for the ZMA(i mean ZMR) once again.

5)Can't wait to see the speedo unit switched 'ON'. Seems to be designed keeping tourers in mind. Although I wouldn't want a digi tacho on long rides.(sorry, but somethings shouldn't be changed)

6)Too bad I'm not working for an auto magazine. Else........

                        God Speed
                        Regards,
                        Joe

P.S.: There is no difference between the terms Oil Cooler and Oil Cooled. If you need to be precise, then 'Oil Cooler' is the device and 'Oil Cooled' means the function of the same device. Correct me if I'm wrong.

They must have thought ""Indian junta to *****ye hain.. Heroine Honda jo bechenge.. woh bikaga.. Why spend time in improving a good design.. ""

Or else what would have happened is.. HH wanted to spend least amount of money in improving the design. As they wanted to utilize the R&D budget to throw money at HRITHIK DANCER ROSHAN... who can be also called as NACHANIYA. I have a strong GUT feeling... in the new ZMR ad... this NACHANIYA (Hirtheek Roshan) will get another chance to dance his ass off. NACHANIYA will dance & people will buy the product. This bike might sell.. but looking at the price tag.. I DOUBT that it will sell.

One more thing... majority of sane Men like dark blue... black... silver.. crimson red... as a color of chioce for their machines.. as these are evergreen colors.... And not Blood red.. parrot green... pink... But Hero Honda has mastered the art of providing machines in FEMALE preferred colors. As if they are not making machines for men...
What I conclude is... from today onwards we can call HERO HONDA as HEROINE HONDA.. Thanks to the wonderfull color schemes from the world's largest Moped Manufacturer.

P.S - Some of the Greatest automobiles in this world ever existed... have had no stickers on them...Just the name and logo. And we know what Heroine Honda makes.
                            LoL!

The fairing looks like it has been forced upon the bike. No harmony in design whatsoever. As somebody already mentioned pricing (if true) makes R15s pricing looks cheap.

All said and done P220 & RTR180 seem to be the best two-wheeled excitement that is accessible to the masses today.
