That's indeed an enviable sales record for anyone.

But, 1 Lakh bikes sold in 50 days... how did they produce so many in so less time. I think Bajaj's plant capacity is about 5 or 7 lakh per year.

Let the aam janta feel the same about their new possession after two or three years. If they can, that paves the way for Bajaj to it's long term success like HH.

Kudos to Bajaj if its indeed sold to customers as opposed to shipped to dealers. Yet to see a 100cc discover on the roads of Mumbai. But for goodies it offers it's a very VFM bike. Just the marketing is skewed a bit according to me since they are marketing it as a a tourer as opposed to what it is i.e. a econo-commuter.

Great job bajaj, but the problem is it is not adding much to the company's over all sales, the new 100cc is cannibalising the other 125cc's Bajaj's. Look here Bajaj motorcycle sales rise 4% in August- Two-wheelers-Auto-News By Industry-News-The Economic Times

In august it sold 48,000 units but it did not show up much in the final tally. By the way I have been seeing plenty of the new 100cc discovers here in Bangalore, the only problem is u can figure it out only after looking at its tail lamp.

This was the same case some years back with CT-100, it was flooding on roads and today rarely get to see any CT-100's, i hope this will change with discover.

Indeed. Even I was checking the sales numbers. I found that TVS has done pretty impressive numbers in August and Bajaj also did positive numbers. But only 4% growth for selling so many bikes...? gotta get teh September numbers also and then compare.

I saw the Disco 100 twice on the road. Once moving and once parked. Both the times I had to make it out only by the tail lamp.

So, when are they gonna stop the Disco & introduce the "all New" 100cc? In the auto expo10? The problem with Bajaj is that they completely stop a model, which is hyped as selling in "thousands& lakhs" of units all of a sudden. And these bikes sell for peanuts in the second hand market. Poor owners.. Poor Indians.. Sab chalta hai idhar..

The reasons is Bajaj's other segment bikes has got beaten heavily because of Discover 100......Mainly this applies to the XCD135.....

Pulsar150 and 180 doenst went for that much attention with those new Add-ons due to Lots of Pulsars in the street
Pulsar 220 only performance Freeks will go for it
Platina and Discover135 were almost faded Models of Bajaj....

The best part i like about bajaj 100cc bikes are they sale like hell, i dont know what exmample i can give ! oh wait !! see uday kiran went all booomm in his starting days but now he is now were seen in the telugu industry.

This is the same saga with bajaj 100cc's they come on roads like bicycles and for unknown reason's they start disappearing as time passes, wierd really wierd i wonder why the owner's gets pissed off so soon

the long term success is not there for bajaj in 100cc segment, sad but true ..
