Its a fact not many can handle the amount of power we are dreaming about on our streets .

And as a matter of fact , except for over taking when there is a chance ,
there is no use of high amount of power needed while city riding , well atleast in our city conditions here , well I just mentioned these situations for the sake of it .
And we dont reach any place much more faster by short speed burst and braking and short burst and braking compared to steady riding . Infact according to me steady riding teaches much more and is healthy for your ride .

We claim ourselves to be a biker and boast about how different we are from people because we are responsible riders and know or have some info about our bikes functioning etc . We call fireblades and R1 's marvel of an engine .
Then we ridicule this small engines by calling them uncle bikes or etc .
Arent these things motorcycles ? . Does it not need any effort to design these petty things ? . So why do we give them their respect .

These bikes save hell amount of fuel . People are spending double the money to buy enivornment friendly cars and so so . These small cc bikes are available much cheaper and in a way serve a noble cause , dont they?.
Well some ways how they help
    1. Save petrol
    2. Less emissions as less petrol is wasted for the same distance travelled etc . And if there is a catalyzer , more helpful .

But the irony is if a person buys a environment friendly car and goes somewhere , he is seen with respect . But if some rich motorcyclist for his daily chores buy a yo bike or some mileage friendly petrol saving bike ,
he may be considered as a lowly or a poor person unless you know him / her personally .

Heck the Honda CD 70 even climbes twisties with some effort .
I wonder why it is not sold here .

And if these 50, 70 cc bikes are available for cheap . It may also affect Hero Honda resale value thing some way . And people finally stop buying them and give hero honda a heart attack .
And finally try to bring out something new , heck even if it is 50 cc .

Ps : I may sound kinda aggressive but I am not shouting at anyone or blaming anyone or supporting anyone here . Neither am up for an argument here . I am just requesting fellow xbhpians to ponder on this view point also . I am just asking some respect for this small wonderful engines .

I am talking considering in mind those people who require and will anyways buy a bike which can help them . Because then you all would argue that cycles are more environment and body friendly .

    Cheers n ride safe .

70 cc might be the largest selling segment in Pakistan, but most of the S.E Asian markets have 100 cc as the entry segment for their step thrus (and not less than 100 cc).

(Honda CD70, the most popular bike in Pakistan)

The S.E Asian markets might prefer Step Thrus over Motorcycles but these markets are actually more evolved than ours!! Our S.E Asian brothers actually have fun on their Step thrus.. check out the Yamaha Sniper (from Philippines). Its a 135 cc Step Thru with a Liquid Cooled engine with a Monoshock to boot.

They even race on these fun machines. (Legal) Racing culture also seems to be better developed in these markets than ours.

And its not that motorcycles are totally absent from these markets. The Vixion (platform of R15) appeared first in Indonesia and the CBR150 still sells in Thailand not in India. Not to mention the Kawasaki Ninja 250R was already selling in these countries much before India... and come to think of it, these are essentially Step Thru markets.

      I'll also agree to that.

Test rode the Discover 100 today!!

I went to test ride the Discover 100 today and I was really happy with the Bike. The big surprise was that the bike that was given to me for the test ride was not the Black/green,Black/blue,Black/red color which i have seen on the Internet and the auto mags, but it was a stunning DARK RED color(which comes on Discover/xcd 135). Here are the pics.
