Any ideas does that has a radiator fan?
I wonder how that engine is going to run in the summers with that completly enclosed fairing.

AFAIK liquid cool engines have better cooling than oil cooled.
I doubt there is any fully faired bike with oil cooler arrangement.

        • I guess liquid cooled is better as it deploys a coolant liquid to keep the engine cool. with the oil cooled thingy, dont know much..somebody share some gyaan plz.

Woooow!!! That is a jolly good comparison.

This pic is very dissappointing, i was expecting HH togive Liquid Cooling,Not this kind of SH!T..Oil Cooler..

            Definately,NOW i am very dissappointed!

Yaar it is Oil Cooled like P200 or P220 DTS-I or DTS-Fi were,it is not liquid cooled like Yamaha R15. which would have a Radiator or A Fan!
            Very Dissappointing!

            • Be it the 220 or ZMR, we have to keep in mind that it is not "Oil-Cooled", rather the "Oil IS Cooled".

It will not deploy a fan like the R15. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. But in general cooling efficiency, Liquid cooling is better.

So you mean the oil goes through the cooler to maintain its viscosity right?!

Well, a cooler oil is lot more viscous than warmer oil. So the hot oil is re-circulated through the radiator-like-cooler-thingy and exposed to the oncoming wind to cool the oil down and bring it back to normal viscosity levels and sent back to the engine for usage.

In an air cooled engine. air takes away heat from the engine. In an water cooled engine, water does so. But water too needs to be cooled. In an oil cooled engine, oil does so. Yes, oil cooling is not done just to maintain oil viscosity but also to take away some heat from the engine, as air flow is disrupted due to the fairing. And that oil too gets cooled by the air.

So, what is the difference? Oil cooled - engine is cooled by oil, oil is cooled - oil cooler cools the oil, which gets hot by taking away heat from the engine.

From what perspective do you find the 2 different? If possible, an example of a bike using each technology would be nice!

Ur wrong buddy. Take a liquid cooled engine like an R15 or R1. The engine is enclosed in a water jacket and the water is running around the engine effectively siphoning the heat away from the engne. This water is cooled by the radiator, which is not the case on an oil-cooled engine. There is no separate oil coolant that forms a jacket to take the heat away. Its the same oil used for lubrication that is being cooled. So ur not siphoning the heat away from the engine using an external element, but rather removing the heat from the lubricating oil.

Check this for oil cooled engine: Oil cooled diesel engines - KUBOTA-ENGINE - Internal combustion engine

                          • zmr with monosuspension would have been eligible to be compared to the ninja .
                            for now no chance
                            ninja rokz all the way
also technically zmr feels way backward then the R15
it stands midway between p220 and R15
hence no competition and hence a safe(boring) step taken by hh

The Automotive batteries are designed to work best in a typical short start-stop fashion.
So to increase the life of your automobile battery, blow the horn and flash the pass light in a quick start stop fashion instead of a conitnuous long horn blow or flash light continuous on!!
And obviously don't stretch the self start far too long.

Yeah, it is true that oil cooling is not as efficient as liquid cooling. And it works just as you have described. My point was about the terminologies. I wanted to say that there is no difference between oil cooled and oil is cooled. At least, haven't found an engine where separate oil is circulated in a jacket around the cylinder block, which by your definition would be oil cooled. Wiki too agrees with me. Also, could not find out how the engine given in your link works. When oil is used as a cooling medium, it collects heat from the engine and cools the engine (thus, oil cooled engine). This oil is cooled by the external radiator.

Hence, I guess both terms are correct and mean the same thing.

3)ZMR will be better choice for taller riders around 6ft! as R15 is little puny for ppl like me when compared with ZMR

                                Just my personal opinion..

ZMR has the 6th Cog ??
