Mr Ferrari.. With all due respect.

You never know how a person rides, I ride in those places, that if I take you there, you will end up having God knows how many bruises and you will end up coming after atleast 30mins after i have reached the destination.

Just a couple of days back I was riding near New Delhi railway Station and ZMA's clutch got heated up!

I did a marathon ride of nearly 22 hours back in 2008 from Bikaner to Ahmedabad( yes the distance is hardly 750 kays but half the roads were under construction) with a truckload of luggage on my Zma and given my size n weight, mann, at the end of the ride I gave in but the zma didnt! That ride had the worse of potholes as the entire highway was opened up. which brings to focus, the seat.. perfect for me..and opinions differ. I guess you are bigger size than me

While the ENKEIs may be heavier than say, the r15's alloys, they are incredibly durable and of superb quality. In the long run they hold their value well, as long as you're not a racetrack freak who's looking to shave off the last gram from the bike.

Not at all, if setup properly. On the cbz, we installed the zma enkeis and changed the front fork leg so that we could use the zma's 276mm disc. Kept the stock cbz master cylinder and caliper. Used the nissin pads which cost 1800 then. The braking was a revelation, naturally, the cbz's much lower weight is a factor, but the braking was miles ahead of my rtr, which even now after running the factory fit pads and disc for over 11k kms, still needs only one finger, and two for extreme braking situations. I have never used a disc brake with as much stopping power and feedback as the 276mm on the cbz on any indian bike. r15, haven't tried yet, but it's atleast twice as good as the rtr.

Yes, TPFC does only squirt additional fuel when you snap the throttle open suddenly, it works like the perfume sprays, you know, the ones without gas in them.

However, cooling effect, if any, would be negligible due to the fact that it only works under sudden throttle opening. An example of real piston cooling would be the 7th ports in the rd350, famously know as torque induction when clubbed with the reed valves, which actually keep spraying additional fuel on the piston crown, thus aiding cooling.

Vishu, taking decision just by looks on paper is not a wise idea. Why do not you wait till the bike is on road with proper road test. You can decide later.

Sandeep, I agree that R-15 is a great machine. I have been using R-15 for the past one month. You will not feel as comfortable with R-15 after using the ZMA.

You use it on the CBZ and claim that it is powerful?! Even my Pulsar can brake with a single finger under most speeds. HH bikes generally have very mushy brakes! RTRs I have found, have superb brakes! Might be, your brakes need a check up!

                      • Guys this is going way OT! and even the hardcore Karizma fans seem to be getting on the defensive about the bike, it's a fact that almost every non-karizma owner have loved or appreciated the bike in some way or the other and their rants are an outcome of it. I would request the mods to split this thread for comparos or delete the OT posts.

                        • The new Karizma looks good, specially from the rear three quarters. The faring looks a bit heavy and unproportionate at first only to start looking better after you keep staring to other angle photos . I believe the bike will look nothing less than fabulous in flesh.

I have always liked the ZMA and kept it as my first choice right from 2003 (while getting my 180 V1) and then while getting the 220 Fi (when there was ZMA-R), however both the times Bajaj machines looked more pleasing.
This time again after seeing the latest avatar of the Karizma, I am very pleased.... my next bike change would probably be after a year and half from now, hope to get this bike (as it wont be upgraded for atleast 3-4yrs) .... but then there will be other 250cc bikes (a la Ninja 250R). The ZMR is a proper touring bike like the ZMA and I feel the Ninja will be more of a sports bike rather than a tourer.

                          • What's wrong with you guys??? ZMA was the most loved motorcycle in India since 2003 and ZMR is much improved version of it.

I see ZMR as a fantastic touring machine. Even ZMA is a superb machine and ZMR is just icing on hot cake. I would any day take ZMR rather than R15. I think only the lower part of faring is bit ugly but rest all fine. See it from performance point of view and dont forget its a Honda machine, they cant go wrong with their engineering.

From my side its thumb up for ZMR.

ZMR has only bested the good features of ZMA. So why crib about it?

                              • my take on it

i still see more P220 selling just because of 3 things first its price and second its change over to carburator and third service and availabilty of parts.

Karizma still being respected as a complete machine still lacks service and spares.I 've seen bikes standing idle in my town waiting for parts, over a month .not good at all. They should consider a naked version of the bike which will be exciting to ride when it shreds 15 kgs of excess weight.

R15 is the most advanced and well designed package (not a moded old wine) looks and performs excellently.but the price, high tech and riding position scare most middle class people away.it is time for yamaha to come up with a exclusive 250 cc 25 bhp machine now.reality is my local dealers workshop is filled with more of 2 strokes than 4 strokes !!
