      • Hope Bike India had the foresight to print extras this issue as well as the next. I'll try to get one tonight.

          • @Satellite.kid: I know you never meant that the Indian bikes can't give u the smile per km factor! But my point being we all should stop arguing on the base of smiles/km as the smiles per kilometre are relative and as we cannot quantify and measure it and hence it does not make a good argument for establishing any bike as worthy. Also we must agree that BlueBlitz and others also have a point in being worried about ZMRs top speed or other specs and they are not entirely wrong. The resason is that ZMA was launched in May 2003 with the round about similar specs and it took bajaj till late 2006 to complete and july 2007 to launch p220 to reach that spec!!! So to many of us speed freaks the big part of Karizma's charisma was that its spec was the better then any other bike in india (excluding the big bone breaker bullet 535 ). And now in 2009 their big hype about the new model they again had the chance to lead the way for the industry with all this competition and they provided us more or less the same spec! I mean Bajaj has long been teasing us all with the Nin250 and this time HH could have caught the worm of 250 being the early bird with a 250cc motor from Honda! Man, they have a great alliance with Honda and both companies have agreed to continue the HH beyond 2014 then why let the Bajaj have the pleasure of releasing the first Indian quarter litre??? I think many people are disappointed with this and let us poor fools for speed mourn for our loss for a while!
            When in doubt...... Gas it!

As per my research on the two wheelers market , honda tie-up with hh will never come to an end ,as they said in a press that they want to produce a good number of variants in each segment , like there are uni, hunk, cbzx in 150cc , stunner, shine, splendor 125,glamour in 125 cc segment , secondly i read that honda global survived in the recession times only and only because of hero honda sales in india (source economic times).
Mman both the companies are spoiling each other badly
The Automotive batteries are designed to work best in a typical short start-stop fashion.
So to increase the life of your automobile battery, blow the horn and flash the pass light in a quick start stop fashion instead of a conitnuous long horn blow or flash light continuous on!!
And obviously don't stretch the self start far too long.

                  • An interesting find here...

I checked my ol ZMA manual and found out these interesting tid bits...

                    >The ol zma's length was 2125mm, the ZMR's is 2110( as per d brochure pix v got)

                    >the ol zma's width was 755mm as against the zmr's 805mm..think a 50mm bigger place to tuck ur legs in!

                    >the ol zma's height was 1160 as against this ones 1175mm

                    >the wheelbase of zma is 1355 compared to the ZMR's 1350mm.

I thought ZMR's wheelbase and length is greater than ZMA's. Thanks for the info

Hence Bajaj are generally more powerful with less refinement as oppose to honda. Even when you compare Honda Unicorn engine with that of CBZ & Hunk which are using the same engine, CBZ & Hunk has lost the refinement of the unicorn for more power. Bajaj can probably make the Pulsar more refine but their power has to come down and thats perhaps is not their objective.

This is not to say, refinement is not possible for the same output. They will have to come at a greater price tag.
                        How about R15 then?

its a 150cc block thrwoing out 17 horses...but t still maintians very good refinement levels when compared to other bigger bore bikes!!!

So it basically boils down to the precision engineering that manufratures adopts.

                              • Bunny: just a question for you..how did the ZMR feel handling wise? same as usual or better? and most of all the gear shift...was it smooth or clunky?! Am hearing HH have deployed a new clutch in this one..
