Reducing the R15's price to 90K??? Is that confirmed or just a speculation? If its going to be reduced by 20K, i dont mind waiting. Planned to get a R15. Thank goodness i saw this post. The dealer i spoke to promised delivery in 4 days. So i would've got a R15 by the week end. I guess it is wise to wait.

Hey @Udayakiran... My opinion here is if u plan to take the bike this week itself, i will say go for it... these news discussed here are not 100% true... some of them have contacts/links from they say and many others simply speculate...
There is one more month for the Autoexpo 2010... even if they reduce the price of R15, you may have to wait another 2-4 months atleast... it will be really frustrating... in my opinion if you decided to take R15 this week jus take it buddy, otherwise i don't know u will wait for nothing... with a disappointment... if i were in your shoes i will not consider this thread...

If it's true i would suggest you to pay that 20K and buy it today. Buy the one which is in market it's all imported KIT, grab it. Later you will get the indianised version ( locally procured and assembled ). if price is going down this will only be because of local procurement.

This whole lot depends on if the news is correct...

@UdayaKiran : As @Binoy Said - what i said is only that i heard from one of my fellow Mechanics working in Yamaha showroom........
But its not an Official or Confirmed News - if u are going for sooner - get is and enjoy it sooner....
But if you have time to wait then wait till Autoexpo and then Decide....All ur Choice....
Its better to wait rather than getting disappointed by seeing New Fiscals in the Expo....

I doubt if the reduction is as high as 20k. 90k mentioned here should be the ex-showroom price which is 97-99k anyways. So total reduction is at max 10k in ex-showroom price.

1 month (and 10 days) is not a long time. And i sure can wait.
                  - If Yamaha IS releasing a new version of R15, and it is a improvement over the current one, however small, i'll be gaining. I'm sure it'll be at the same price tag.
                  - If Yamaha is not releasing a new version and is just reducing the price, i'll be gaining as well.
                  - If nothing happens, i wont be losing anything, except a few millimeters of my teeth and my nails, from biting them.

If the Yamaha's India plant is as good as the one in Indonesia (i guess thats where it is being manufactured), it is not going to make any difference right?
                      India-made or Indonesia-made, it'll be Yamaha-made, so i guess (hope) it'll be amazingly-made.

I also think the older R15s will be available at some corner. I guess the majority will think "1.1L for a 150 cc bike? There are lots of 150 cc bikes at lesser prices. Besides, Karizma is 223 cc and it costs only 70k. Meh! Lets go for that." So, no big deal.

Exactly my thoughts. Yes, i do have time. My RE is warming up to me, and i'm actually starting to enjoy riding it in the city. So, i can afford to wait.
Besides, these things have a disturbing way of coming true when you least expect it.

10K DOES make a difference. I can use it to get some good gear, or put it aside for my RE. Maybe if i fix up my RE again, i can put it to good use. Or perhaps use that for my car. Or....[floating off into a dream..]

I really hope they dont put bigger tires on the R15. Even if they do, i hope the performance and grip is not compromised. I wonder if Yamaha is giving in to pressure and doing that to satisfy the masses (ie, if it is doing it).

If u have time to wait then it's good... but don't expect the new R15 which will be showcased in the Auto expo to be launched in the same day itself, it will take 2-4 months to come in showroom atleast...
