    • If this bike comes in - then imagine the Life of Disco 135 and Pulsar 150 !!!! They will be in the same Page of the P200 Book!!!

      • No one cribbed when it moved to P200-220FI then why crib now?
Dude isn't it obvious that one wont complain of rising stocks but falling ones???Duh....

this will be a boon to A LOT of commuters who aspired for the Pulsar brand but were more "practical" in thier decisions!
AFAIK the very brand Pulsar ur talking about was built upon the 150/180 bikes.I dont think pulsar brand would have been same if they had to first launch a 135cc Pulsar for the so called "commuters who were more "practical" in thier decisions".Hope you get my drift here.Period.

            1) Exactly my point: No one would complain when a product is launched in a category 'they' want. So you complain about a new launch in commuter class, and they complain when they see a 'over priced' R15! Buy a TATA Nano instead

            2) Is that even a point, I never suggested Yamaha to launch the R15 first and then basis that launch a YZF R1 :P, strange though no one had a problem when it went the other way round!

Chill man! I do get your drift, all I am saying is that most of us are illusioned with this 'performance' class of biking and hence anything which is not in our market becomes a topic of jest! Chill!

Any company is free to launch or name their products as they want, noone can stop them from doing it.
The move which Bajaj is taking maybe good for the "commuter" segment but in no way will help the "performace biking" section guys who got 220's and all.
Any brand has to look after its customers from all classes- they just cant focus on one and neglect others.

Regarding these moves better than stickering jobs etc , yeah adding 20 cc every year, reaching a pinnacle and then launching a bike with 15 cc less than lowest displacement engine +same name is also not out of this world thing but still better.
That too with more features and more stylish than say a P150- customers would be angry at such moves.

Bike looks good in the pics. Will sell well if its named as rumoured to be. Lets see..

A common man wont be able to figure out the difference between the Pulsars untill or unless he spots the fairing in P220 or the stickers (read 150/180/200/220) on side panels

P.S: I'd be glad if they dont name it Pulsar, in order to save some respect & image of the BRAND "PULSAR".

                  • Finally some competition to the Honda Stunner! The Honda blokes have been charging some premium on it to kingdom come! This should knock some sense into them.

I agree to your points @Satyen... but one question, if the new bike is a 135cc, bajaj already got a 135cc discover which is a good bike and from this new P135 what can a we expect more than a discover, discover has a descent mileage AFAIK... and in the case of looks... i can't comment, coz it varies from person to person... so in which category they are looking for?
Ya one thing you said is true, bajaj is not going for a sticker job, but like @amjv mentioned bajaj is trying for a record like 125,135,150... so on...
no hard feelings to anyone... just my opinion... lets see what comes after 15 days...

Go back to the garage and strip a Pulsar 150 V1 and Pulsar 150V4... The CC didnt even budge, but a LOT changed in those bikes! and the P135 and P150 are still in different platforms altogether... one on a DTSI and another on the DTS - SI platform ( as if that makes a difference) but more importantly this is a 4valved engine!

                          • The bike, indeed is a Pulsar 135
Its (almost) the same Sprint 135 many were waiting after the expo.

I would still expect/want Bajaj not to name this as Pulsar.....!

Is it confirmed that it is a 4 valved engine ??

I don't think so, b'cos by now Bajaj would have created more noise saying it is a new platform, new patented technology, India's first 4 valved 135cc engine etc etc
It will be just Disc135 engine, 5 gears and a power of 13+ bhp, targeted as city sprinter and as usual some feature additions like DC lighting, LED rear lights,...Bajaj's hope is to dent Stunner's pie (which is selling like hot cake) with 'Pulsar' branding, but we need to see how it will sell with time, b'cos XCD135 is almost dead which was launched few months back with lots of fanfare and aggressive ad. campaign.
