^^ Height..!!!Originally posted by Biker_Rohit View PostI don't understand why a few owners of bigger Pulsars are unhappy with the possibilty of a new Pulsar 135 cc?
I was almost about to book a Passion Pro for myself, and then I came across this new about a new Pulsar 135. I have now decided to wait and see. This new Pulsar 135 is now certainly in my consideration, depending on the final pricing of course.
Wouldn't the current Pulsar owners be happy that their own family is growing in strength and not another 100 cc family?
And by the way, I think that this wouldn't be a slow commuter bike. Please look closely at the tank flap. The letter 4 is cearly visible. Which means that this might be a 4 VALVE ENGINE

Oh Bajaj now please don't price it too high.

XCD sprint s long wait- an EVOLUTION
--->a composition of images i collected since xcd sprint has been showcased in auto expo '08.
jan 08(1 st TO 5TH row)
--->a collection of images from the bajaj auto s official site in between march and may(forgot the month since hv been waiting for almost 2years).in the 6TH row
--->A Collection of recent scoop and teaser photos in in the 7th AND 8TH row
--->An image of scoop from motoroids site in the 9 th row.
--->thus from the above images we can conclude that the bike is brand tagged as pulsar but its entirely based on the xcd sprint concept which has been upgraded since its launch.but it ll be in the sprint concept as base.
note: the split seated xcd sprint in the 6 th row is still in bajajauto.com website in the media center/press/mediakit/ link in the products page as a thumb nail image.

But the tank and tail panels on the GoodbyeTraffic site looks very much like that from the Pulsars and not like that found on the Sprint Concept that was showed in Auto Expo 08.
The exhaust though look very much similar as that from the Sprint. Maybe its a mix and match of the best cycle parts and the best brand name that Bajaj got in its stables.

@Anirudh: Well said man. Enjoyed each line of it and the way you have said it.
@VIPIN: I do not understand what makes you say that Pulsar cannot be comapred to legendary series, blah blah blah!!. His post is just for the comparison on intertnational trend with what is happening here.MJ

I dont care if its named Pulsar or Gulsar or whatever shit .
What matters to me is a step in technolgy.
4 valves , a bigger disc , Digi meter , split seats and Split handle bar , Split grab rail and Led tail and tubeless and what not.
Giving the customer what all he wants @ a competitive price.
about 13.5-14ps with 4 valve and 65 + mileage and styling and priced around 55-60k range. Y not buy it ?
By using the pulsar brand name ur using 60 pc of the same parts from bigger siblings which saves a hell a lot of cost .
Whats special in an FZ or Fazer other than looks ? Its highly overpriced , underpowerd , pathetic milage . isnt it still selling more than any other 150?
Same concept here , give everything what our Desi customer is looking at.
Im more than sure this bike will sell in good numbers.

I find myself often taking stands contrary to popular opinion. In this case though, I cannot figure out how Pulsar brand wouldn't be diluted by coming out with so many variants. Like yamahatrooper said, its as frivolous
There is something called as Branding Up & Branding Down. These guys are up, down, left, right everywhere. Beyond Kotler, beyond anything else
I read comparisons made with R1-R15. The problem here according to me is P220 doesn't quite have the same brand equity as an R1. Besides, like R1, R15 also caters to 'sport' bikes segment. It also shares the same genes. However, P220 and P135 belong to different segments and I am not convinced that P135 can be called the scaled down model of P220.
It looks to me as if Bajaj is lazy in brand building and are eager to cash in on Pulsar name. Though it might sell in the near future, it will do more harm in the long-term if they cannot think beyond Pulsar.
Just for a second imagine entire Maruti line up being called Alto

^^I agree!! It's more of a short term gain.In the longer run it's bound to hit Bajaj. But for the moment, the bike will surely do decent numbers and will cause serious problems for the compeitition.Originally posted by NitinGirish View PostI find myself often taking stands contrary to popular opinion. Kotler would be scratching his head for not incorporating Bajaj's marketing strategy in his teachings!!
