  • What i have noticed that PULSAR no more represent a bike rather a range of bikes

    So now stop saying that i have a pulsar just say P180, P220Fi, P150, P200, P220dtsi, P135
    This will maintain the exclusivity of big bore pulsars
    BIKE + BEER= sigpic

      Correction...XCD125 was phased out when XCD135 was launched...as far as XCD135, it will be phased out to make way for P135....but they may do it after a while....b'cos it was launched just few months ago.

        .. I didn't know it is that powerful than even lower capcity bikes: P180 or A180 .. BIG .. yeah sure .. I can understand this bit.

        That is surely there and you can definitely avoid that if you answer P200 or P220.
        Karizma also have/had multiple versions: Karizma, Karizma-R, Karizma Sport, Karizma ZMR - the fact that they don't differ much - does not mean that they are same and exclusive.

        By your logic you should call all of:
        Standard series

        * Kawasaki Ninja ZX-150RR
        * The Japan-only Kawasaki ZXR250 was sometimes rebranded as a Ninja ZX-2R by importers
        * Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R
        * Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R
        * Kawasaki Ninja ZX-7R
        * Kawasaki Ninja ZX-8R
        * Kawasaki Ninja ZX-9R
        * Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R
        * Kawasaki Ninja ZX-11R
        * Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R
        * Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14

        Race-Replica series

        * Kawasaki Ninja ZX-RR

        GP series

        * Kawasaki Ninja 250R
        * Kawasaki Ninja 500R
        * Kawasaki Ninja 650R

        as Kawasaki ninja and hope people say "WOW", big machine ... and see here engine varies from 150CC to almost 1400CC.

        So I am not totally sure what does that mean?
        Does that mean that all Karizma are same even after 5-6(whatever)yrs of inception and HH doesn't upgrade/downgrade(or at least change) them? They just gave same bike with different names on the name of exclusivity?
        Or Pulsar is a good brand of bikes in different categories? They gave good bikes in different category under a single brand name.

        According to me: at least Pulsars differ and have exclusivity among themselves .

              Strategically the move may be good by Bajaj, but a part of bikers would definitely want some exclusivity and they would not be happy with this move.

              Guys, there is no brand war here. Just an example.
              Nice one man.

                Ninjas (pulsars)
                > Difference b/w lowest cc and highest cc is 1105cc (85cc)
                > Difference b/w basic and top model is whole 'two' cylinders (ZERO)
                > Difference in top speed b/w basic and top model is about 150 kmph (20kmph)
                > Ninjas have evolved over 25+ years and are best known performance bikes in the world (6 years, 5 models, 2-4 upgrades on each model, ...............)

                    Bang on.. one of the sensible comments.

                    Its like the Kawasaki "Ninja" Series, Yamaha "YZF" Series, Honda "CB"/"CBR"/"CBF" Series, Suzuki "GSX" Series so on and so forth.

                    Somebody might say that how can one comment these exotic and famous brands with the "Pulsar" series.. but then one can't deny that "Pulsar" indeed is a big brand in the desi context.

                    Not many desi bikes have made a brand out of themselves to start a series of their own, with the expection of the R.E Bullet Series of course.

                    Also maybe the Pulsar family differ in small increments in terms of "Power" and "CC".. but at least they aren't mere sticker or cosmetic jobs.

                    • ^^ Agreed, I will not be surprised if Bajaj changes it's name to Pulsar Auto Ltd., Pulsar means a lot to Bajaj..no doubt about that...

                        Next product would be Bajaj Pulsar Autorikshaw 350 DTS-Si

                            Well dude, Upgrading is a good thing. Its often called progress,
                            but downgrading is a thing I dont agree with, be it Bajaj, HH, TVS, anyone.

                            Not coz of Karizma 250, but yes with a Karizma 150, I & many will feel lack of exclusivity.

                            • All sort of cribbing again.

                              What if you were on a budget and needed a nice commuter bike? Pulsar is a well known brand, you might just want to buy one, but a 150cc is out of your budget. What then?

                              I makes perfect sense for a business like Bajaj to try and capitalize on an established brand. That's what most people forget, they think bikes are launched to satisfy their needs and wishes. However, that's wrong, bikes are launched to make profit. No difference between Bajaj, Yamaha, TVS, HH, Honda, Kawasaki, etc. All companies will listen to their customers, but the end goal is, and will always be, profit.
