@Sheel: If you are talking about the R15, then yes, it is a good machine no doubt, but not the kind of motorcycle that I would be happy with. It lacks torque low down, and I am not someone who can ride it always in the powerband, which evidently kicks in after 4-5k RPMs! Moreover, I won't be happy with a punter of a 150cc motorcycle, after riding something in the likes of 200cc (purely talking about the cubic capacity).

I want something which should have more low and mid-range power than something which wants me to rev it's nuts off before giving me that feeling of moving ahead! The "mini-me" of the R1 is NOT for me; whereas a machine like the R1, well, it sure is!

I am eagerly waiting for a sub-250cc machine from any manufacturer with decent power output and price less than 1.5 lakhs and yeah it should be considerably more faster than the P220 DTSi!!

Absolutely true. I am bikeless right now, and my ONLY option in the 200cc+ category (barring the super expensive Ninja 250R) is the Pulsar 220 DTS-i. It's not that I do not like the P220, but I want to ride something 'different' now, something more than a mere 20cc upgrade!

I feel the same, need a powerful machine which is different from the pulsars n ZMAs. Ninja though a pleasure to ride, it dosnt go too well with the pocket.
And 10-20cc upgrades are I guess now fast churning out of fashion

It has to something reall big... either I wait to save enough cash for a liter class or someone launches a mighty 400!! Anyways it's a wait

Only 400 available in the world market is Gladius 400 and Suzuki most probably will never get it here.

Coming to the soon-to-be-arrived pic of an upcoming Honda, I believe it might be on the lines of the sports Unicorn that was showcased in the Auto Expo. However, as 'Coffin On Wheels' said that it was hard to follow it post 100, the engine definitely seem more powerful which is a good thing

I am not too hopeful of a 250cc from Honda right now since currently they need to take care of Unicorn as its quite outdated! However, I would love that surprise of a 250cc from Honda nevertheless

And ya...when we all see the pic, let's not try to conclude the engine capacity if the bike doesn't look 'that' big!! u know what i mean

Quite true MG!! Same case with me.... A litre-class is just too expensive and too powerful for me, while a 250 is just too puny! And am not the guy who wud like to rest on a sofa on two wheels with arms stretched out and relax at 90 kmph (Harleys)... As of now, all that I(we) can do is wait (without giving in to the temptation of getting a good car!!!). I have the R15 to run errands around. Need something bigger to enjoy the pleasure of riding.

But the question is will there be any launch beyond 35ps of power.I dont see any in the next 2-3 years unless of course the impending KTM machines but then who knows what price tags would they be sporting and i hope they come within the reach of some of the discerning buyers.

Only if the govt lowers the excise duty we would be able to see some serious action in 250cc+ segment otherwise it would only be a slow and limited growth in options/market!!

Even before the image is posted you are trying to save its ass. Btw the test bike never has final body panels on it. Mainly its the chassis, engine which are tested.

As of now, all that I(we) can do is wait (without giving in to the temptation of getting a good car!!!).

You never know. That's the year I'm hoping that I will have money and most probably there will be a bike of my liking in the market.

But the question is will there be any launch beyond 35ps of power.

Frankly speaking I'm not expecting anything from the Indian manufacturers (Read Bajaj and TVS) beyond that power. Infact I will say 30ps of power will be the limit. What I'm looking for are imports from the big japanese fours.
