And HONDA why this 150, why not straight away 250, home grown, not a CBU like KAWASAKI.

True as far as power is concerned.Originally posted by Aryan View PostIt would be good to get a real performance machine from Honda! FINALLY, I would've something to look forward to, apart from the Pulsars of this world. I have literally NOTHING to upgrade to from a P200!
You too!!!Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostPS: I am bikeless now!!
Sensible decision.Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View PostAs a next upgrade I'm not looking for anything below 60ps of power else I'm not upgrading. True there will always be a bike in the 200-250cc range in my stable for throw it anywhere kind of ride.
And I do not see any manufacturers bringing in 400CC bikes in the near future! It may sound terrible, but this is true! The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

It is not about the power in terms of PS at crankshaft. Ever compared the 143 cc Pulsar classic engine doing true 118 kmph with latest Pulsar 200 struggling to do the same? It is more about the biking experience as felt by us bikers.
Though I would be happy with a 250-300 cc reasonably short stroke single cylinder carbed bike with the ability to do 140 + true top speed for long stretches in the Indian context. ANy manufacturer. Any make.
And I know it would be the most practical and viable product. And it is very much within the range of Rs. 1 lakh.
Though I had reached the stage of waiting for next bike upgradation 5 years ago, which many have been feeling now.

Actually you can also add the Honda CB 400 Super Four to that list..Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View PostOnly 400 available in the world market is Gladius 400 and Suzuki most probably will never get it here.
The CB 400 Super Four's got a 400 cc, inline 4 cylinder engine, but it is styled in very simplistic/retro lines, which the Japs love but might not appeal to our desi 'janta'.

Yes, the CB 400 Super Four Bol D'or with the Pulsar 220 F like half fairing. But styling wise it still is very old school and retro.Originally posted by Puneet1 View Post@payeng - ther's also a semi-faired version and it looks like the perfect bike for india . see attachment

The frame is a simple P220 like, double down tube affair and has twin rear shocks. For a 4-6 lakhs (assumed) price bike, our "desi" janta would expect to see some modern styling and modern cycle parts.

Being Honda if they want to they can easily design a new full/semi faired version with updated parts as well and if they manufacture it here thenOriginally posted by payeng View PostYes, the CB 400 Super Four Bol D'or with the Pulsar 220 F like half fairing. A little OT:Originally posted by Technician View PostEver compared the 143 cc Pulsar classic engine doing true 118 kmph with latest Pulsar 200 struggling to do the same? It is more about the biking experience as felt by us bikers.
The classic 180 or 150 ( I assume you mean 180 not 143) did not have a rev limiter. All DTS-is have one and it is inside the BCU. Thats why a classic can touch higher top speeds, taking more time to get to those speeds than a 200.
We saw this on a dyno in Bangalore. A 200 topped out at 125 or so. A 180 classic went 130+ on the dyno.
On topic, there are a lot of dirt bikes using 250/350/450 cc engines from multiple big brands.
Plonking one of then into a road bike could give us a more powerful Zma type bikeLast edited by tanay; 04-19-2010, 08:10 PM.200 | 300 | 1200 BOXER

Seems like a little wider tyre, open chain, new tail lamp (looking pretty good) and the exhaust seems changed...
But what is that light coloured thing beside his leg? a panel that long would not look good!
Up-right commuter-ish position. same RVM's. Doesn't look to be rear-sets.
Something bulging on the tank ahead of the rider's knees. Scoops?
Dude, how was the front?
Watermark them first.Last edited by HydBiker; 04-19-2010, 08:53 PM.
