  • Thanks for the pics by Coffin On Wheels
If its naked Honda with ZMA engine, that would be very good

    • Here's a plain jane looking HONDA CBF250, HONDA can add some tweaks like full fairing, rear disc, etc and launch it.

This red Fazer 250 from YAMAHA is attractive package too.

          • How I wish the pic was taken from the other side
It would have given a lot more hints especially by relating the disc brake size to the cubic capcity :P

            - Monoshocks
            - Clear tail lamps
            - Nice big fat swing arm (Suggests its a Unicorn upgrade)
            - Fat RVM bars suggest that its not! more like a bikini faired mount or something
            - Tyre doesnt look more then 110 ,

The mudguard, The bulbed tail lamp, the half chain cover suggest the CB Unicorn concept!

PS: Dont go gaga over the twister and the VTR, they are much more nastier than the punny bike in the pic!

It'll be a unicorn with now boosting power in upwards of 15PS i think, to keep it's head in the current 150CC segment power department.

Big BOO to HONDA, after almost a decade it lauched the upgraded version of it's 150CC machine and still it looks no good from rear atleast.

No it is not. I would not ride it even if you paid me for it!
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

                  +1 on the speculation
                  and +2 on the Boo!

Seriously, if the cylinder hasnt grown in size then a BIG BOO!

The Fazer 250 and CBX Twister 250 are nothing exceptional actually.. both of them have Single Cylinder engines.. these bikes would just seem like slightly bigger/powerful than our Karizma/Pulsar 220.

..for many of us, even the twin cylinder Kawasaki Ninja 250R isn't enough to rock the "Need for Speed" boat, so I doubt that a Single Cylinder Fazer 250 or the Honda CBX Twister 250 would do much.

Also purely from styling point, both these bikes would seem dated in front of bikes like the Yamaha FZ-16.

In the end neither the Poser crowd nor the Speed Maniacs would be satisfied.
                      So what's the point..??

I know what you mean man, and like I said elsewhere... there seems to be some sudden change in plans... information being messed up and all on 'that' front..(I guess it indicates proximity or inexistence :P - I would still hope proximity and wait till this month!)

Going by typical previous launch dates of the company, don't expect anything after may/june and before November.

But expect the kits anytime 'only' if they are planning to launch it!!

                          @Payeng

Agree with you completely. The only way those machines would click is pricing and some minor refurbishments in styling department. If that is taken care of, then expect those machines to do decent numbers, too!!

                            • Since this a launch speculation thread....................I am in for some near reality speculations.Sailing throughout the wide ocean of net,for India, this year-250cc possibilties are enormous.I discovered atleast 5 new 250ccs rumoured, massively.
                              here it goes:
1.Hero Honda brings in the CB300R Fi(a bore out version of CB250Twister,now available in Brazil)
2.Honda brings in the VTR250........a Vtwin bike, sports Ducati like trellis frame.
3.TVS finally is on verge of launching their ever coming Taurus or Fiero F3,just waiting for the market to open up first.
4.Suzuki is very excited about launching the GSR250,a parallel twin sporting the lines of the enormous Bking. They categorize it as a high end premium muscle bike.
5.Bajaj may launch their Pulsar300,they sent in the Ninja250 first to gain market acceptance, then shock this crazy market with the lower budget offering.
6.Yamaha may launch their humble Fazer250 with fairing, details about the racier R25 is still sketchy and nothing may cook up before 2011.

Of all the above the first four has very high rate of support that they may make it this year only. That makes it a 250cc live fest.
One more thing,TVS and Suzuki may shock the market with their pricing.
TVS product is inhouse and very much of Indian make.
For,Suzuki rumours are there, that they had made India as the base for making and launching their novel 4t 250cc,since Indian market is now very much intended towards racier bikes with certain speed limits.
Both Honda and Hero Honda would follow CKD routes lowering the price tag.
Yamaha wud also do CKD route and Bajaj well, similar to TVS.
So, one thing is clear that the next 250cc wont have that Ninja price tag anymore. All Indian and Jap OEMs has learnt the market.

Leaving the 250s aside, the list that began this thread has been compiled from rumours of Auto EXpo 10.
However, without goin into speculation,I hereby forward my wishlist:
I wud be more than happy if the two biggest of two big fours make it to the market this year..............namely Kawasaki ZZ1400R and Honda VFR1200.Vmax and Hayabusa are already there. The world wud know that Indians are not into Superbikes........but Hyperbikes !!!!!!
About the Yamaha bikes, the Gladiator series is already doing good in all departments, why plonk in the SZ and follow the Bajaj route of Discover135,Sprint135.........they seem to me useless as most people prefers the Platina 125.I hope that the good looking SZ gets the 165cc engine of the Gladiator prototype and finds a segment for itself.
I also support the the bringing in of R125 very much,it wud be a direct hit for the all conquering Pulsar 135LS.The way Yamaha is interested in the Indian market, they wont go for the CKD or CBU for R125,they wud make it in here itself on the same belt of bigger bro R15 and market it as a premium around 80 grand. But even at 80 grand this bike wont find many takers,it shud cost around 70000 atleast for a 125cc loving youth.
Harley Davidsons are already here.........so nothing to worry about.
Discover should not lead a life of painful phase out,it shud get the 150cc engine and live on,Bajaj needs to do Brand justice by making a Discover 150 and phasing out Disco 135.
Then theres the Honda Unicorn which gets a facelift, but it ends the hope of CB150RR making to India. The New Unicorn wud be sold alongside standard Unicorns.

Lastly,Suzuki has also planned a Sportsbike for the 150-200cc segment. They are determined on bringing the 250cc and this one in 2010,festive season only !!!!!

Phew, that ends all I had gathered for past few months, anyone can trash it or take it up.But I think this is as close as it gets, summarising it all. Thanks
