    • HOnda has 4 engine architectures. They are in (i) CBZ-X, Hunk, CB-Unicorn, Dazzler, Achiever, and parts in Glamour, Super Splendor, Shine, Stunner.

      (ii) ZMA, ZMR, CBZ, Ambition.

      (iii) CD-100 series and clones.

      (iv) CB-Twister.

A totally new engine architecture is not likely, that too for a small sale numbers, other than what they are already selling as mentioned above. This should make things clear.

An imported engine in local frame can be a bigger possibility for 250-300 cc, if any, aka, R-15.

Rather Bajaj and TVS have bigger possibilities for bigger bikes but don't have vision.

Werent CBZ AND CBZ -X justa rebadged\rehashed Honda Tiger?
I guess that makes them three platforms?

the Honda CRF derived ZMA was due for a change (which I think happened last year)

the CD100 platform might soon be shelved considering that they have a better twister based engine now...

+1, Looks have been USP for FZ and only reason they sell more.

Also one doubt - does the current Unicorn will be stop in production or will honda launch both?
My personal view: Both must be available... else spending ~76K is not worth while, unless they don't power up the motor...
Yamaha FZ16,FZS and Fazer all does on road price tags of 74 grands and that too only a basic 14bhp,Still it finds takers.Lets not forget that Honda is also as iconic as Yamaha, they are both from the Big-4s.I see nothing wrong if CB Dazzler sports 76K on road wid marginally increased power and torque and admirable looks. If I see a vehicle of myself or for my own pleasure I wud go for a RTR180 anyday at that price. But if you are talking about the brands and the sophistication that follows in then,u have to pay a premiuim.I myself got to believe this when I used the original Suzuki India bikes.Their gearshift and refinement levels are in another world in comparison to TVS bikes.Clutchless shifts on 4T..........engine handling heavy mods with ease, there has to some price for this kind of sophistication.

YES, just like Honda Shine and Honda CBF Stunner...........Honda CB Unicorn and Honda CB Dazzler would be sold alongside.CB Dazzler is just Honda's CBR150R for India,so take it cool.

The looks of FZ-16 is simple, macho, and elegant; that is why it sells. The Unicorn sports is definitely not and is very well below the level of FZ. Unless there is significant upgrade in engine department, it would be just another STunner FI with the proposed price tag.

Stunner FI is not for Indian market and its main market is overseas. Honda is not bothered if it sells or not in India, as it is mainly for overseas market. Also, the carburettor version of Stunner takes care of volume department. Similarly, as suggested by MG and others, if this bike is going to be launched in international market, including Inida, Honda will not be bothered about its sales number in India, as the primary market for the Unicorn Sports is overseas. The normal Unicorn will take care of the volume department.

                    • For info. only: We got CBZ engine architecture in 1999. The West got CRF 150 in 2002. Before that, they were using XR 185 & 200. South east Asian countries are still using the same architecture(perhaps due to lower emissions norms). The really bad characters in those countries are turning it in a gem looker.

If I am not wrong, the image in right is the latest iteration of the tiger.... first generation tiger was like the CBZ, second was like the CBZ Extreme, and this is the fourth generation. Compare that to the Pulsar v1 to v4 Damn the 'only' company that we say which is 'evolving' the bike is no where close to these companies at all!

(PS: This is too much of an interesting topic to be listed\lost in the speculation thread, can some MOD help move this into a new thread, "Evolution of the bikes around the world" or something! )

BTW, when considering the evolution, we should even consider the time difference between different models. The Pulsar upgrades, in my opinion, were fast paced in comparison to anything else in international market.
