@Binoy: Yes, Rs.76k for a 150cc machine sounds steep, it IS expensive, really. I am hoping against hope that Honda somehow manages to increase the power/ torque figures although I doubt they would do so, as primarily the Unicorn serves it's purpose wonderfully (commuting).
Anyhow, like always, we'll wait and watch and speculate some more!:)

If there are buyers of FZ or Fazer at 72K+...then I think there is no need to surprise by the 76K price (Onroad right?) of the new avatar of Unicorn.
Being a tried and test engine, and well known reliability..and better looks would somewhat justify the price if it has been accepted that FZ/Fazer price is justified.
And a rear disc? why unless it is not popping out more power, As KP said..I think the source of this source (Autocar) is XBHP..
Still..I wont but this If I had to.

2008 - Yamaha YZF R15

I'd say, keep both the models.. what's the harm in selling both?Originally posted by HydBiker View PostI'd say, take the Uni out. Get this new bike in at the same price (Uni recently got a price hike), and see the tamasha in the market - this WILL sell like hot cakes.
Will be interesting to see if the engine gets an upgrade.
"CB Dazzler".. interesting name as well

I agree and there might be slight change in the powertrain department especially when the bike is being tested by Honda guys. Also the inclusion of rear disc brake and wider rear tyre should be implying something that way!!Originally posted by payeng View PostI'd say, keep both the models.. what's the harm in selling both?

Ya i do agree bro... Hot cakes - that's the point at which Honda must take care about, coz a Uni is the best commuter bike with the right recipe of good power, less maintanace, smooth motor etc. etc. but at the end of the day if one want to buy this beautiful machine you should wait atleast 2-3 months... there are lot of customers who went to buy unicorn/activa and atlast get run out from honda when they hear the booking/waiting period...Originally posted by HydBiker View Post^^ they've got that news mostly from xBhp itself. Here we are speculating 10K more (see posts a page back) and also going by the premium models sting Honda is into now a days everyone expects it so.
But this model at a premium would be a wrong step from Honda. For the other models Honda is charging a premium, they hardly have any competition. But for Unicorn at a premium they have strong competition. 2-4K more than Unicorn is the max they should price it.
I'd say, take the Uni out. Get this new bike in at the same price (Uni recently got a price hike), and see the tamasha in the market - this WILL sell like hot cakes.
and decide to approach other manufacturers(may be they have probs. in the manufacturing unit) if Honda will increase the production it will sell like hot creamy cakes...

After reading 443 messages on this thread and waiting forever for a suitable upgrade to my beloved, I'm starting to think speculation is like candy. The first few tickle your tastebuds, but after a whole boxful, you start feeling a little sick. Anyone else feel the same way? When the body wanders, the mind rests.

Supposedly Honda is also readying a new model launch in Indonesia which will replace the Megapro (same engine as old CBZ). This is what I got by traslatind their langauge in English
"It's obvious alias 150cc Capacity 149.2 cc
Confusing and could make a hot blog about the motor that is rumored to be shifted from production lines MegaPro. It is data that already MUST say this is a 149.2cc engine capacity 150cc alias. Automatic target segment is the class of Cruiser / Sport such as V-Ixion or the possibility of going Brojol Byson & Thunder 150
Figures for 78,000 units for AHM emang impress but that number is almost the same approach Byson Yamaha production figures clearly prove that this product is intended to deal with a classmate Byson alias products. But questions such as whether it would be this product, would benar2 Honda Unicorn or adopt any change in terms of appearance? Now how will we wait to stay!"
From what I could understand is that its the same Unicorn concept which is readying its launch in India. By looking at the engine specs it seems to be the same Uni engine with power figures similar to Hunk/Xtreme (Probable).
Note: Yamaha Byson is nothing but FZ so it will targeted at FZ and hence the probable price difference.

This and the bike which was at the spy pics are same?????Originally posted by Aryan View PostThe price one pays for an 'exclusive' and 'new' product, I guess. Anyhow, the new Unicorn or shall I say 'Dazzler' looks good, in my opinion.
But, yes, Rs.10,000/- might be a little too of an hike. However, I feel it looks way better than the current 'outdated' Unicorn!

the half pin stripes are looking good, stubby type silencer is good too,it's almost having FZ 's front mudguard.
i think the ENgine is will be now churning out power above 14 like the HUNK and XTREME.
No doubt it's a looker but at the same price i'd rather go and buy RTR180, which may not be as smooth as this, may not have fit and finish as this, but everytime you'll turn your right wrist, all it'll be doing is pulling the pants off this machine.
But HONDA cares a damn about that, even if it demands 20000 premium for this, people will buy this and dont be surprised ther can be waiting in this
or it may outsell PULSAR 150 or RTR 160 in the first month of it's launch.
But HONDA we are intresed in CC's and BHP's more.
Where are the 250's????????????The Magician"

Actually the problem is that WE(xbhpians/motorcycle enthusiasts) don't only buy motorcycles and are a tiny minuscule population for Honda to pay attention toOriginally posted by rennycornelius View Post

So my guess is right! The new Unicorn Sports will be sold along side the current CB Unicorn with a premium tag of around 7-10k. But, we have to see if the premium tag is worth the upgrade. The styling of new Unicorn is good, but not 'as great as FZ'. I am sure the Unicorn Sports would be a flop with the price tag and Unicorn engine, like Stunner FI, unless there is an engine and power upgrade.
BTW, I am sure again the Unicorn Sports would be without pilot lamps and engine kill switch.

Right.Originally posted by sheelpriye View PostActually the problem is that WE(xbhpians/motorcycle enthusiasts) don't only buy motorcycles and are a tiny minuscule population for Honda to pay attention to
HONDA knows the nerves of INDIAN people right from the CD100 days, it's doing that right from past two decades the same thing under the name of HERO HONDA, take one engine and craft thousand motorcycle around it and still sell them like hot CAKES.
CD100,CD100 DELUXE,Sleek,Splendour,Passion,Passion pro,Joy,Dawn with the same 100 cc engine.
HUNK, XTEREME and ACHIEVER with the same 150CC engine.
BUt who cares!!!!!!!
They are all doing super business.
And that's why they are here for....to make money.
I'm sleeping,wake me when a 250 comes.The Magician"
