If you meant the TVS factory ones, then its story is on page 41... if you are referring my souped bike, then its being beta tested by Anup and is now @ Pondicherry.

Then what about the other manufacturer which prides itself for being world's no.2 manufacturer and has all the racing glory backing it still resorts in one engine-different design philosophy. Talking about enthusiasts, they will always pin their hope on this particular manufacturer but sadly they are forced to go for alternatives manufactured from a scooter and a moped manufacturer.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View Post
Edit: If your answer to the why was for you and me and that handfull of enthusiasts who want the world for a too good to be true price, then come up with a better answer
But lately i am starting to have more faith on HMSI as they are bringing out newly developed designs/engines which is a good thing and will force other ventures to look in similar direction which means more competition and better products.
So a 250cc bike from them is highly likely!!
PS:I wasn't blaming HH alone.

Ok fine then, discontinue that engine and launch the 4 valve head right from 150 to 180 and to 220, BUT, save us from the same engine in the next cc bump.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostTechnically the P220 engine is said to be the max that they could have stressed it for being stree 'reliable'
My question was,is and will be is that after so many years in the motorcycle busniness of INDIAn manufacturers and taking lessons from the JV's they had with foriegn firms, BAJAJ with KAWASAKI, TVS with SUZUKI, and now BAJAJ having shares in the KTM, why they are taking so much time to develop a home grown parellel twin 4 valve 250??
I DOnt think there will be limited or few takers of it.... look at the sucess story of NINJA and R15, both are by the FIRMS who do not belong to INDIA.
And look at us, depending on the JAPS to feed us with a performance bikes cuz our indian manufacturers are so busy making profits out of 100,102,107,108,110,125,135,150,160,180,200,220,22 3 CC bikes.
Thank god they left the 115 CC segment, and i wont be surpriced if at the end of the year BAJAJ comea up with 115CC discover and surely we'll have ba 115CC sefment with BAJAJ as the king os sales in it followed closely by a new bike from TVS, and YAMAHA stables.
I mean they want to fill each and every segment, if they conduct a survey and will find that a certain region of india will be happy with 170CC bike to then we will surely have PULSAR170 and RTR170 in the line up.
well said.Originally posted by Technician View Post
If you have 150 and you go in step to 160, then 180, then 200 and then 223 and then 240 and so on, you would still feel the urge to get one day a full 250 or 300 cc bike while wasting your time and money on these middle steps. It is not worth to increase speed by 10-15-20 kmph.

Yamaha was never about Bore and Stroke increasing...........what I meant by Bore and Stroke is that not even the basic engine construction was touched, which can include a lot more other things like valve timing, ignition timing, firing angle and etc etc........seems my simple Bore/Stroke reference has went very far spanning over a number of members

Yamaha is a company which gives 220s,225s,180s a chase with 150cc engines and that is not even a bore/stroke job,its liquid-cooled,forged pistons, injection timing, valve training and all.It does have some disadvantage though. This machine restricted makes only 17bhp,being short stroked doesnt makes good torque, which makes it a Pony at lower rpms. But for a high revver like me it always flies under me,be it a racetrack or a steep climb......yes engine gets stressed a lot but still, its why liquid cooling is there.Knock in a perfo enhancers complete with Cdi,It would grow more bestial. And a chassis that wont let u run away with ur madly uneven 200+cc,due to stability issues. The Yamaha wud be giving u stress in the RVMs

Yamaha can easily introduce the R125 engine in the SZ.........and its nothing about the Bore/Stroke...its simple 125cc not 135cc.
Fazer could have easily got the 165cc tested on the prototype Gladiator,Bigger engine, powerful(about 16 bhp reported),torquey, absolutely no shame commuting at 95kph-110kph........this does includes Bore/Stroke but again even RE350s have that huge Bore/Stroke, its all about Torque and engine gut when it comes to touring........Stroking and Boring is the only solution. All cruisers have huge engines and all Tourers have huge engines.Yamaha's own FJR1300 has that..........its bigger than the notorius R1 but all the way less powerful while speeding. But u can do continents without even itching your back on the FJR.While on a R1......God bless the rider who would do continents on it.
So thats my point,Yamaha should be Yamaha............it destroys its reputation by following Indian manufacturers.Yamaha has always been preferred by Performance mongers and not by fill it-shut it- forget it stereotypes. They have this market for themselves always.People who had RX100s and may not having enough bucks for the R15 and want the same feeling without riding a regular 150(FZ16) can easily go for a R125 engined SZ.Now still that brings us back to speculations.

Coincidence !!!!!hehehehe..........lookin at it a positive way,ya shouldnt be thinkin of regret at all......RX100 was all about Low end torque and mid range, which the FZ16 with its torquey engine has in plenty.
R15 is just a true performer bike, its in another league straight away,People with RXZ 5 speed would crave it more.

Brilliant Technician! You said it! I have always felt that!(except for punishing the manufacturers!Originally posted by Technician View PostMay I interrupt your learned people here.
Just cheeell. Where are the moderators?
Long time ago, there was a fakir, totally naked, sitting and enjoying the sunshine with his dog. Alexander, the Great, came there with his convoy and told the fakir to see his splendour (not the bike) and admire his greatness.
I also ask you to come, sit and enjoy your current bike to the hilt and keep and maintain it forever until you get an alternative with at least, 200 cc liquid cooled or 250 cc air cooled engine or more, which can do 140 kmph true for long stretches. Stop changing your bike foolishly every now and then

^^I would use that word if Honda has worked on the engine, not that it is bad but because it's long over-due. Neverthless even without that, a good bike would get even better. But i sincerely hope Honda doesnt give it a ridiculous pricing.Originally posted by chauhan_saurabh View Post^^^
