"Yes, we have got the details and specifications of the upcoming high performance Apache bike. Although there were speculations that the next high capacity Apache would be powered by a 220cc mill, the truth is far from it. TVS Motors has plonked in a single cylinder, 4-stroke 250cc mill which produces 30bhp at 9500rpm and 2.2kgm at 8000rpm leading to a top speed of 150 kmph. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the bike weighs just 140kgs with 16 liters of fuel capacity. The front suspension uses telescopic forks whereas at the rear monoshock rectangular swingarm does the job. The front gets 290mm discs and the rear discs are 220mm (ABS will be optional). Front tires are 100/80 x 17 whereas the rear tyres are 130/70 x 17 bolted onto 6-spoke alloy wheels. Price is expected to be close to Rs. 1,20,000/- and the launch will happen next month."

That looks very ugly from the front. Can't be a TVS design.

Hope the info is true but the photo is made up by them.

Hope it comes in two versions: 1) round headlamp or butch looks like the FZ16 2) semi faired like the ZMA or P220.

            • If this is the machine that TVS will launch as its flagship, then only thing possible for its owners to stop shying from showing their bike to others - IS TO REMOVE THIS COMPLETE FAIRING & BRING IT TO ITS BIKINI right away.

Definately this is not the final looks which TVS may consider ever for a prototype purpose. Me too keeping waiting eagerly for this flagship from TVS coz I sold my FZ last nite & is looking for a POWER HORSE to be my next ride.

              • Bajaj Twin Cylinder 250cc.

Motorbeam also published about the upcoming Bajaj 250cc earlier this month.

"The wait seems to be nearing an end with news about the upcoming Pulsar 250 pouring in. According to Motoroids’ sources in the component industry based around Pune, Bajaj is in the final stages of developing an all new 250cc bike for India. The engine has been under development for quite some time now and the new Bajaj Pulsar 250 will feature a parallel twin, four-valve per cylinder liquid cooled 250cc engine. Power output is expected to be anywhere between 27-30bhp with top speed of 160kmph. But the most important piece of news is the pricing, which is expected to be south of Rs. 1.5 lakhs!!
With the Pulsar 250, Bajaj will take a major upward shift in technology. On the cards is a new aluminum beam frame (used mainly on superbikes), rising rate link type mono shock rear suspension, front and rear disc brakes, clip-on handle bars, projector headlamp, new digital instrument console and most importantly a completely new design. When launched, the Pulsar 250 will undoubtedly set the benchmark for ride, handling and performance in the premium biking segment in our country. What do you think should Bajaj offer on the Pulsar 250? Please share your views in the comments section below."

Honda has launched a new upgraded Unicorn.

The major upgrade is the name 'CB Unicorn'. A viscous air filter is added and a new red color scheme is available. There absolutely no change in the desing or power output, except the engine is now BS-III compliant.

Even TVS R&D guys would be clueless about this bike, I wonder from where those guys get those type of news.

They would be launching the Sporty Unicorn with 'some premium' features at a higher price (app. 7-12k extra). They would sell the regular Unicorn along with it.

I guess this is not an upgrade at all and Honda never said about it. It is only that it is BS-III compliant now.

I agree but why prefixing CB in the name. That means some extra features/looks would have been thrown in to go with this new variant.

Thats a image created by some Pune xBHPians friend working with ACI as what they EXPECT the new RTR to be? Ridiculous crap there though!

                            • I've read an internet article a week ago regarding the launch of Yamaha R125 in India. It said that the bike is more successful in US/European Countries and if the bike is launched in India, it will cost approx. 3.75 lakhs for sure! Now, is that a fair deal?

                              • We all are desperate for higher capacity bikes now especially after Ninja's launch, Yamaha should not put wrong foot forward by adding another clone of R-15 on our roads.

FZ with a bigger heart will be most welcome & will keep Yamaha's streak going on after success of Fz(s)/R15.
