The R125 might be just 125 cc but the looks & Size is by no means puny. Beside an R6 it looks almost there. With the Ninja 250 it would match up in looks & even the price

Ninja 250 is a no frills bike with power. R125 is max out power at half the CC (though less than half the ninja's power, for a 125cc it is a lot of power) with lots of goodies. Well, why am I discussing the R125 again!

Sorry guys a little offtopic.

It's still not maxed out. If, anyone here remembered MAHINDRA 125cc concept bike in AUTO EXPO. Guess about its power, it was more than NINJA 250, Generating tremendous 53HP of power.Now, if MAHINDRA puts it in 3.5L price tag then i would buy it over any 250cc NINJA.

Next or the next, Yamaha is launching SZ concept that they showcased in AutoExpo with a 125cc engine. The engine has similarities to FZ-16.

Another speculation, there are two superbikes that are being launched in the coming three months.

Some more news to SPECULATE on Fryday.


"As the Indian two-wheeler set the market ablaze by registering amazing sales figures in the last few months, some of the top bike makers of the country are planning to scorch things further by introducing at least two new Superbikes and two premium commuter segment bikes in the 125cc segment. All the four bikes are scheduled for the next few months and while one of the big bikes will be priced under Rs 10 lakh, the 125cc bikes will further spice up the mass selling entry level market.

Out of these bikes a couple of them were displayed during the Auto Expo 2010 held in New Delhi in the beginning of this year and received a lot of attention. Yes, we know that you want more information but you’ll have to wait for that a bit. Being a responsible magazine we have to be fair to the manufacturers as well, coz we would not like to spoil their party.

All we can say now is that patience is a virtue."

Enlightenment will come the moment you ride the R125. Specs on paper is something, riding the two bikes on the streets is totally another. Believe me, once you ride the R125, you will throw the specs sheet outta the 15th floor window!

I strongly think R125 (contradictory to what i said earlier) may match the R15 in speed and may topple it but why?there should be a valid reason, right?can you/others think of something

Guys may check out initial riding impression of R125 in Bike India April 2008 issue from page 90 and may check out top speed timings on You Tube, there are plenty

apache 220/250 P-250 are in the speculation list, but lets speculate about their launch dates too, it takes forever to launch them

Nope. Atleast they would not start with a bike priced heavily in INDIAN market and that will be the case with this bike. I think they will start as all normal bike companies do by launching low capacity bikes first.

Its a 2 stroke bike . no chance of launch . even the specs i feel are bloated to gain publicity and excitement as mahindra is best known for SUVs and tractors .

And what is this "Brembo mono disc" brakes at front and back mean?

Do they mean that there is only one disc? like most of our bikes have?

the frame of ths bike looks like Ducati's frame. umm.... what is that called?

And, the seating position... looks as aggressive as the R1!

I spent half an hour at that pavilion asking that guy about this bike and his only sentence was "Ayegi , Jaldi launch hogi".
I asked to confirm the specs and he didn't have a single valid point to explain it.
And as Puneet Sir said, it was just there to gather attention.
