Slightly OT, but can't help wondering..Royal Enfield. They have die hard enthusiasts. Their motorcycles are the most preferred in touring in India. The demand for their motorcycles are not bad at all. Why at all, would they not ramp up production? I mean, irrespective of how classic the Classic 500 EFI is, not many would be willing to wait in excess of 3 months for delivery. Also, with heightened production capabilities, they can roll in the 'few other models that they plan to launch over the next couple of years' based on the UCE EFI 500 engine, like the Thunderbird 500, Cafe Racer, Classic Chrome, Classic Battle Green etc etc. Why? Why? Why don't they ramp up production?

As far as I know, 800 cc and above bikes do not have to go through a homologation process. Just pay the import duties and sell.Originally posted by yellowspunk View Postwhat homologation headaches man?? how different is a below 800 from a 1000?
besides any burecratic process in india is a headache, so why go for something that will sell only 5pieces a month when there is a market for 100? there is something we are missing here.

w0w. Thats awesome but that front fairing light looks ugly but i guess that my opinion. Maybe since thy are test driving it still, it might be fully faired later on??? OR they might do the oppisate of bajaj and first bring out the half faired 250.. then a few months later... TA DA! Fully Faired. lolPHP Code:
--Honda Shine [08-10 SOLD]--
---HH Karizma-R Black [10-Current]---

250cc twin under 2 lac ??
I remember when the Comet was launched, it had an ex-showroom prirce of 1.7 lac INR (with 1.9lac on the raod - mumbai)
Would absolutely love to see something similar, with the same tech specs.... dont care whether it is full-fared or naked
Yep, with the current situation inflation n all, the price may sound too optimistic and the speculation too repetative but thats what I could actually go out and buy
Currenlty Honda seems to be working on their single cylinder 250 - 300 and rumours about TVS's single cyinder 250............ so guess currently 250cc twin under 2 lac is only wishfull thiking
Before - Waiting for 150 KMPH+ Indian bike
After - DUKEd !
Pulsar 180 DTSi (sold) | Duke 390

I was sharing a chat with a person yesterday. He is generally less interested in bikes or for that matter cars. I told him that bike scenario in India will change very soon with all those manufacturers coming up with 250~ cc models....Day will come soon that 200cc segment will be the commuters bike like 100-125 cc is today...See what happed to 4-wheelers in last 12-14 years. Now it is the turn of 2 wheelers..the senario will change very soon....
He replied,"kuch nahi badlega. 20 saal pehle bhi CD100 aati thi aaj bhi aa rahi hai"

(nothing will change. CD100 was there 20 years ago. CD100 is still here today)

Hi Guys, this is vinay and this is my first post.
Actually i am following this site since long for update on upcomming bike.
last friday i saw two YAMAHA SZ being tested on Noida.
looks good and appealing .
this looks way better than that which was there in AUTO Expo 2010.
at first look i was supposing it to be dazzler but later i got this as SZ with yamaha logo.looks like younger sibling of FZ.
i was driving bike so was not able to capture images

infact if you notice 20 years from now people used to ride RD's Yezdi's and bullets
with time the cc has decreased
car buyers are diff than bike buyers, a person today prefers a bike low on cc and high on mileage considering his wallet...
its not the same with cars today and was never back then too
petrol used to cost hardly 15-20 rs a litre .. so milage was never an issue.
i think 20 years from now all petrol vehicles will extinct.
only electric vehicles will survive, remember irobot??
that will happen if WE survive for next 20 years..
Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

Yes bro. This is from a very reliable source. When everyone was like 250cc after fazer's launch the source said there would be a 100cc and there was a 100cc YBR !Originally posted by MACH50 View PostIts a 150cc !!!! are you sure ?????
they are bikes. all they need adjusts are for fuel quality and headlight orientation. i still dont get what homologation. probably they think a 600cc for 7lacs would be ridiculous.Originally posted by payeng View PostAs far as I know, 800 cc and above bikes do not have to go through a homologation process. I visited the hosur plant of TVS. Apache RTR 2XX (the person wouldnt even reveal the cc but acknowledged its 200 above) is in its FINAL design stages. it would take anywhere from 6months to a year for its release apparently. (i think he was trying to put me off cause logically 1year is way too long for a 2XX launch since bajaj would be eating away the market with its P220)
oh too bad man. i just recently posted (see previous page) about the gonna be launched bike. try to get some shots !Originally posted by vinay007pandey View PostHi Guys, this is vinay and this is my first post.

younger sibling as well as cheaper too to FZ !
i know all this this cause I and my friends are interning at various automotive companies and two of them being Yamaha and TVS !
Regardless, Life shall go on.
