  • I cannot stop laughing on the comment that he made:
"When the market is ready about the 180cc higher bikes"
If they have such a philosophy then it's time to launch a 50cc bike because the petrol prices are rising and the market is ready for 10,20,30,40,50cc Bikes. I would be the 1st one to purchase it for commuting.

    • ^^+1 for that..
"...when the market is ready for higher displacement bikes".....they mean 200+ bikes?..which world are they in!!! dissappointing....

But hold on, some works are going on the current RTR series of bikes and they will appear much sooner.
if its the racing kits you are talking about....may not be useful for many...ABS??/ Fi?? ..depends on the price

i would like to know your reaction if i say that a TVS official has told me that the RTR 2XX is expected around DIWALI season. Upon further discussion, he confirmed that the new model will have a NEW DESIGN. Also the current RTR series will be updated in the near future.

          • I am afraid (and I would liked to be proved wrong), TVS can never be ahead of the game. It seems all they want to do is play catch-up. They will always play second-fiddle to Bajaj and Yamaha. When they have moved on to the next level it will only be then that TVS revamps its current portfolio.

They had a good thing going with the RTR160/180 , but I am afraid, they are going to lose what little cult following that they have.

They are not launching very good overall packages like Bajaj

              • Hey people,

Last year(or sometime before) I heard about the TVS Taraus which was much like a superbike. Is this for real or just a concept??

And what about Honda's CBR150R?(Man-o-man, If this thing comes I'll be the first one to book). I read that it produces 17bhp and will be fast due to its light weight(115kg).
                YouTube - CBR 150R 0-160 KM/H [ Voice ]
The video shows the old model, hope the new one comes with a digi display. If this is coming then R15 will have nightmares. The sound isn't so exciting though(sounds like the bikes in roadrash).

Also that RTR250 is based on the their motocross bike, I guess. Here are some pics my dad snapped at the Auto Expo 2010. Don't know what mahindra is upto....The first pic is my dad in the RE stall entrance. Sorry for the last two pics....couldn't resist!!

The R15 produces 17PS, and does upto 150kpmh on the speedo.
The video of CBR150R showing speedo reading of 160 will definitely have an error (so does the R15 speedo). Moreover, I have read on a thread here that the CBR150R is worse than R15 when it comes to torque, & bottom end pull, and the CBR150R is therefore not fit for Indian roads (read commuting).
Not much of a difference between both the bike I'd say, unless the CBR150R looks more appealing to you or you prefer Honda.

                  My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

                        • When would the Publications/Sites/Blogs realize that "Credibility" is more important than being the "First one" to make breaking/shocking news.

Ever heard the fable of the "Boy who cried wolf"..??

                          • the only good thing that(i see )is likely to happen is kawasaki building a plant in india and making the 600ccs to sell at cheap rates.
superbikes are the biggest blunders on indian roads.

Uhh, sorry to say, you've heard wrong. The CBR150 beats the pants off the R15 in low-end torque. Its almost as it the engine has no flat spots!

Yeah, I just hope they start bringing in 600s asap. Bring in as CKD, assemble, sell. Almost like the 250r. From Thailand. Under the FTA.
                              You get the point?? :D

True.......only thing,it wont be available in India ever
Honda would rather plonk in a 250....the Thailand made bike is not for India.Unicorn and its variants are for India.
