Because at a price of 46k ex showroom, a 144cc engine would be great enough to kill the 135!

Discover 135 is already phased out. Read below.

"Currently, Bajaj sells around 90,000 Discovers (80,000 units of Discover 100 + 10,000 units of Discover 135) on a monthly basis. The Discover 135 has been discontinued in favour of its 150cc variant."

I see a lot of confusion is this thread which is quite obvious. Current Bajaj model line-up(confirmed) is as follows

    Platina: 100, 125
    Discover: 100, 150
    Pulsar: 135,150,180,220
    Avenger: 200

    • An Excellent move by Bajaj. Makes sense for those people who want a 150cc bike but cant afford other 150cc bikes. It also seems to have good mileage and Max torque at 5500rpm means its awesome in city traffic. A Perfect city commuter.

Guys, what do you think which engine/ mill could this be?

I think this engine's made by long stroking the 125/135cc Discover engine to make it 144cc...

That's why, the rev points for max power/ torque are lower, adding low end punch for the Commuter. Other Advantages are its' lesser weight for a 150cc.

The engine block and the frame looks more like that of the current Discover 100.. the earlier Discover 125/135 had a different looking engine block and frame.

Maybe that's why this new bike weighs a light 122 Kgs (kerb).

Yes it should not be a slouch and will have on-par performance with the rest of the powerful 150s i.e FZ/CBZ!!

              • I agree, losing flab seems to be Bajaj's new mantra. Have lots of hopes for the new Pulsars now.

Seems like a completely new engine to me. I cant wait to have a ride on that bike. I bet it will be fun .

Discover 135 maybe phased out. As this costs almost same and has more power, similar fuel eff and SAME looks.

After looking as this, I am expecting to see a 4-valve 220, weighting around 130ish KGs with 2x horses .

Seems like animals at 'H' zoo are not getting proper food as they weigh the same in all those years.
