I had a opportunity to take the Iron for test ride around Cubbon Park. I was amazed by the ease of riding this one. It was simple to control it in Bangalore Traffic. I now have more confidence on using it daily. The acceleration is quite easy to handle, but pulls you too quick if you twist a bit more
.
Hopefully in April 1st week.Originally posted by khush View Postcongrats..when is the delivery.....?
Ditto. When I explain all the "features" of the bike, my relatives question "but, they are problems...Originally posted by velociraptor13 View Postcongos sri,the 883 is one hot looker, could be my next bike as the emi's are too tempting

First decide your profile. Are you looking for sport bike or cruiser or naked bike or something else? If sports bike, then Ducati might also be a good option. Showroom is opening on Lavelle Road, very near to Harley showroom.Originally posted by gbiker View PostAnybody experienced kindly help me finding a bike in a budget of 8 lacs. ^^ Hey bro! would it be possible for you to elaborate on your first ride experience? I'm sure it was short, but I would like to know about the turning radius and some details on the slow speed behavior, since you were in traffic.
Thanks in advance.10 Commandments:

iron 883 test ride experience
I took a test ride on the HD iron 883 this afternoon.. here is what i felt.
AAAAAAAWWWWEEESSSSOOMMMMEEEEEE
First of all you need to be wearing jeans and boots to get a test ride!! was sent back yesterday when i went in formals
Also need to give them your ORIGINAL drivers license and credit card ( in came you bang the bike you can swipe ur card n take it home hehehe)
ride height was spot on for me.
really need to stretch out to reach the handle bar for a shorty like me ( I am 5'6")
very nice exhaust note but has a fair amount of mechanical noise from engine too but not offensive at all.
gear shifts with a loud clunk but precise.
got loads n loads of torque right at the bottom jus love the feeling.
decent ride quality on the good roads where i rode (St Mark's Rd)
maneuverability is good for the size of the bike.
really really looking fwd to owning one
The wait list is anywhere between 4& 6 months at bangalore now :-(1985 yezdi cl2 -sold
1996 SCOOTY-SOLD
1997 RXG- RESTORED
2012 Harley-Davidson Superlow
1971 Vespa 150
1989 yamaha rd350
1996 yezdi roaching better than new

I also took the Test Drive of Iron 883 today.. Infact me and Aditya ( n_aditya) both took the test drive and was completely overwhelmed.
I asked the service manager also about Srisetty's HD delivery. He told 1-2 weeks more and it will be delivered..
One pic which was clicked by Adi..

Congrats on the booking.
Hope you enjoy your Harley as and when you get it.
A word of caution. The GC on these bikes are very low, and be careful going over speedbreakers, especially the gigantic ones in Blore. Be sure to stop and crawl. Any speed and you will scrape the bottom. If you do scrape, don't worry, it's not the end of the world because you will only rub the bottom of the frame, and no critical components. The oil drain plug (plastic fitting on a rubber tube) looks dangerous dangling between it, but is more rugged than it looks.
Have been using a XL1200N Nightster for over a year in and around CBE, so speaking from experience.
Ride Safe.

Good that you didn't try with formals. Else you would have wasted one trouserOriginally posted by eyedocsri View PostI took a test ride on the HD iron 883 this afternoon.. here is what i felt.

Don't worry about stretch out. You can fit in reduced reach seat which will bring you closer.
Thanks for the update. The pic looks nice.Originally posted by mav1234 View PostI also took the Test Drive of Iron 883 today.. Infact me and Aditya ( n_aditya) both took the test drive and was completely overwhelmed.

Thank you. Nightster is supposed to be better in terms of GC (125 mm). During my test ride, I went over few "regular" humps. I did few at very slow speed and some I just hopped to just check. Didn't scrape even once... I am now more confident.Originally posted by Gthang View PostCongrats on the booking.

the bike looks too thin in pictures. can u give an idea about the size of it? in compared to royal enfields is it bigger?Originally posted by mav1234 View PostI also took the Test Drive of Iron 883 today.. Infact me and Aditya ( n_aditya) both took the test drive and was completely overwhelmed.

Yeah the bikes looks bit thin because of the Tank(12.5 l) and the Headlight which seems Punny as comapred to other Harleys ( Fatboy especially)Originally posted by Nilhawk View Postthe bike looks too thin in pictures. can u give an idea about the size of it? in compared to royal enfields is it bigger?
But you can change and go for aftermarket one, which may set you back by many grand ( as per the Showroom Staff)
(Or may be because i look fat with Jacket on, so the HD may be looking thin..

Yellow/black color would be available soon. I don't know if bookings can be made with that option...Originally posted by harishsangwan View PostI dint know that a yellow/black color option was available as well.
Yes, it looks nice. Mind that when you want to customize, you would struggle a bit.Originally posted by rowhun View Postyeah! how come the bike is in Yellow? I was under the impression that the only color it comes in is Matt Black. I must go and find out from the showroom i guess. The yellow does look nice.
Iron is an entry level model. It is smaller compared to fatboys or nightrods.Originally posted by Nilhawk View Postthe bike looks too thin in pictures. can u give an idea about the size of it? in compared to royal enfields is it bigger?

By many grand i meant to say, the after market modifications might prove costly.. there are 'N' number of items you can change on any Harley.. Just ask the HD staff and you will be awestruck...( we were at least..
)..
BTW, I am 5'10 and i guess the ride height it quite good for city riding as well as for touring.....

Its called "Harley Tax"...and that turns into a life-long obsession for some Harley riders.Originally posted by mav1234 View PostBy many grand i meant to say, the after market modifications might prove costly.. there are 'N' number of items you can change on any Harley..
