      Update Night ride to Lonavla

I kept the bike under 110 kmph and all looks fantastic . Felt in control all the time. Suspension isnt stiff , need not worry about small potholes on our highway. at 90 kmph , 6th gear , comfortable cruising at 3500 rpm.

Tankful lasted for 275 km before the F-Trip symbol flashed (bike in reserve , 3.4L reserve) . Expected full tank range 300. Fuel shud be topped every 250 kms.

It is nice to see someone buying a more practical, easy on the back naked bike instead of a fully faired hyperbike for a change.

First of all congrats on FZ1 ... I believe Fazer as one of the best Sports-tourers one can buy (Whats the cost difference between FZ1 and Fazer {Not the 150cc one } )... Wish u have lots and lots of long rides on this machine

          Have fun and Ride safe

One more thing, Do upload Pics all the time such as pics from the last ride to lonavla ... White does look amazing on FZ1

I bot one which will last for years. For me it was one time buy and a bike which can be used for any kind of ride.

The semi faired Fazer is not available in india. We get FZ1 N only

Just one question - What were the other bikes considered? Monster 796 was shortlisted? CBR 1000R?

Niks mate, Congrats on the buy . A hot looking bike you have got there.

Whats the recommended fuel? 97? or 91 Octane would do? Whats the fuel tank capacity?

CB1000r was out of question. I loved FZ more because of its meaty looks. Moreover while riding , fz feels much better and gives a more planted feel. Also brand wise , I wud prefer yamaha over Honda any day.
                    P.S. CB1000 costs 1.5L more than FZ
                    Ur answer on cb1000r.

                    The ducati was considered but
1.when I saw the bike in person , it looked nothing special. It is a very small bike and the exhaust note was not good. It had no presence.
                    2. the reliability stories on some of the ducati forums didnt sound like a good decision.
                    3. no service center in Pune. I wont go do Mumbai for any small issues. 4. The service costs were 3-4 times higher than Fz1.

Thanks. As I said earlier , its 91 octane. Fuel tank is 18 L , range 300 kms (ridden sensibly at 90-110 kmph)

Thanks! Got the points. Even when I had looked at the Monster, it was a surprise to see how compact it was but will politely differ with you on the presence front . I felt though relatively smaller, it did have some presence.

Sorry to bother again - Going by your riding experiences, am assuming the riding ergonomics are quite good... What is the seat height? And would it be comfortable for a rider of 5'7"

Seat height is 815 mm .
check cycle-ergo.com for ergonomics. I think it shud be pretty comfortable.

P.S. IMO , The Ducati is worth 6-6.5 on road , not more than that.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
