Thank you. Those are for the running-in. With so much of power, it needs lot of wrist control to ride during the running-in. Beyond that period, you can go up to 100kmph+ in 2nd gear .

Theres no doubt that its a sexy looking bike and the brand name says it all. But, could you point out certain things that you feel could have been better when it comes to the ride quality, if any.
Not talking about features here, but just performance and handling point of view.

EDIT: Hope I am not spoiling the mood of the topic here.

After riding her for more than a week, here are some more experiences.

I feel that the ground clearance is sufficient for most of the city/highway road conditions (not offroading ). I am able to clear most of the speedbreakers without scraping, except for one which was really huge and every car was hitting its bottom.

I have checked the mileage few times. I am getting around 23kmpl for highway rides with crusing around 100-120. In city, I get around 18kmpl with moderate Traffic and max speed restricted to 60-65. In above calculations, I have used Shell Super.

Lastly, cleaning her after a rain is a pain. I got wet once during last week and spent more than an hour to bring back the beauty to original .

Congrats Sri on the IRON, wanted to know what is the name of the seat you have on the Iron & how much did it cost along with the pegs, also if you know the cost of the normal pillion seat?

Thank you. Its a "Sundowner Deepbucket" seat which costs around 18K. Rear Footpeg Mount Kit is around 7K. Normal Passenger Pillion seat is around 7K. The stock seat was a bit hard, so changed the whole seat .

Buying a Harley brings an added benefit. You get to ride with some more hard core bikers and sometimes legends. It happened to me last weekend where I had an opportunity to ride in a group of 20 HDs in which we had a legend (actually couple) who has been riding HD from decades.

It was a bright Sunday morning and all was set to for a ride to Yelagiri, which is around 150km from Bangalore. I was a bit late because of previous day commitments and was joining the ride in between. It was a long lonely highway ride till Krishnagiri, where I caught up with the rest of the pigs. The entire area was in a shock to see so many alien bikes.





The below is the legendary couple I mentioned:



It was interesting that most of the riders were wearing riding gears (knee guards was common exception). I hope the trend stays on. We continued riding and I suddenly noticed in the mirror that 15 harleys were behind me. They were all riding one behind other and was as long as I can see. It was a very memorable and breathtaking experience.

We stopped in between for a while and some more pics.





Yelagiri is small but interesting hill with 19 hairpin bends. It was a good test for my Ashley on the hairpin bends and she came out for flying colors. The amount of torque and the big front wheel made riding her a pleasure. We reached Yelagiri soon and had some lunch.



We had lot of chit chat (obviously about bikes ) and started riding down the hill. Stopped for a photo shoot in between. This place below was a perfect fit to host 20-25 bikes line up. But, need a wide angle lens to get the straight shot...





The ride back to Bangalore was with rain playing hide and seek. We stopped once when it became worse. We had a brief stop at Shoolagir CCD and headed back to Bangalore by evening. Here is my snap with John, who is an inspiration to any Harley rider.



It was a total ride of around 315 kms and loved every moment with her.

I have fitted some more accessories on my Ashley. The bike is a bit dirty after the ride in rains. Will take some pics after cleaning her and post them soon.

BTW, cleaning her after riding in the rain is a pain.
