Wow! Those are beautiful clicks. I must say that I have fallen for the lovely paint job on the Monster.

That being said... its great to know that you are enjoying the company of the beast.

          Hi Kallan,
More damage to my wrist. Only the tip of brake lever came off, thanks to clever engineering. Luckily no scrathes or evidence of a fall.
Joined the group looking forward to some outings.

This attitude is strangely common including with TVS 50 riders with Pedals....Even last week on the highway on my ZMA, a HH Splendor with pillion overtook me at 90Kmph..and when i went past him at 110 ,became so agitated it became a Road rash kind of race, and couldn't catch up with me,...After he got side swiped by a bus due to wrong judgment, I let him beat me .....and neither the rider nor the pillion of the Splendor had Helmets or any safety wear...
I also get extremely irritated by the know-it-alls riding some sorry-ass commuter and saying "arey iskaa average bekaar hogaa" as if that alone is their justification for not buying a superbike . Of course my bikes won't give a gazillion miles to a gallon but it's like me telling him "haa yaar, just like tere karizma kaa pickup bekaar hai".

The strangest thing is that my husky gives me 27 kmpl but more on that later...

People sometimes need to be made to understand that it's OK to not have something but still appreciate it instead of running it down. I wasn't born rich either, I only bought real bikes when I crossed 30 years of age. But even in my college days when I used to buzz around on a RTZ, if I ever ran into someone on an awesome machine, I'd make it a point to say something nice to him, or not say anything at all.

Damn, I would surely like to see that one in the flesh...

I feel your pain and frustration Vivek. The only way I deal with negative response, is to either smile or completely ignore, depending on my mood at that moment. I do find joy in being nice to them and try my best to win them over. It's the difficult way but in the long run, I feel it works. The young ignorant randy rebels on the street, will soon grow up to be handsome and wise riders. I guess it's up to us to educate and inspire. I wasn't always polite. But I can see the merit in being nice. You may find it difficult, to not snap at irrelevant questions, related to mileage and cost. And I do relate to that feeling. Nonetheless, try and fight that urge and you will find joy in your victorious conversation. They will recklessly ride away into the sunset, with your warm words in their heart and respect for the next performance biker, they find on the road.
                .
Kallan you have a well engineered bike and happy to see you taking loving care of her.You have a mature attitude and i guess you have graduated by living through the experience.
Wish you all the best now and always..
                Ride safe..ride responsibly.

As of today I'm a commuter...If I was into drifting, I would have bought the Hypermotard. To each his own. I unintentionally hit a drift on the Hypermotard on the way back to the showroom. Loved it. Hence I call it a fun bike.

Nope. Wasn't me. :-) Did you wave to him?

Some more pictures clicked during the first 1000km service:

                  Hmm...yummy shell yum yum..glug..glug...

Congrats Buddy ... Nice pics ... Haven't ever seen the bike in flesh, but looking at the pics the build quality looks awesome ...

Congrats once again and good luck riding ..

                        Ducati
The name itself brings a smile on my face. I am pretty much a noob when it comes to the technical aspects of a bike but I do know how to appreciate a worthy bike, when I see one. And I must say, the Moster looks sexy in Black/Red combo. Congrats mate.

I have dreamt of owning a Ducati since the time it entered the Indian market. Unfortunately theres no dealer in Hyderabad as of now and nor will I be able to get one right away. I have read people talking about the amount of heat it generates and not very comfortable riding posture, which did make me divert my interest from the Monster. But this thread has taken me to the Ducati dreamland again, where its not always about the comfort or the butter smooth ride but about living the dream instead. I have always loved the naked bikes. Ducati Streetfighter would be at the top of my list in the naked category and how I wish to have it parked at my house someday

I dont really talk much, I guess its the desire to own a Ducati thats doing all the talking here. Anyways, congrats again dude. Keep the pics coming.

As you must have read in this thread, the heat is there but I personally do not find it bad enough in a way to falter one's decision away from the monster.
As for the riding position..to each his own. I am of average height and chose the monster for its size. If I was any taller, I would also be found in a queue of cribbers.
At the risk of sounding like a party pooper, I would like to point out that most of these machines heat up in traffic conditions irrespective of brand.
They are all marvels of engineering and the last thing I want to do is disrespect the art of motorcycle manufacturing by pointing out the cons. The pros outrun the cons (if any) anytime of the week and twice on a Sunday.

Peace and respect to you all...don't forget to wave though..:-)
