@Kallan good point on the Service Cost. It means the service cost is comparable to any japanese bikes. Point here is the Bandit which i think has also the same Service Cost. Check the video below for the service cost.

A V-twin engine, is a two cylinder internal combustion engine where the cylinders are arranged in a V configuration.

The inline-four engine or straight-four engine is an internal combustion engine with all four cylinders mounted in a straight line, or plane along the crankcase.

                                Rear Indicator weak plastic

                                Hey bikers,
so i have a report about the rear indicator...
it breaks really easily and dangles if hit by a knee or any other leg swinging activity. It's a known defect among ducati monster owners who have gone through the heartbreak of watching a friend/wife or aquaintance swing their leg over the bike and cracking the plastic as you look at it dumb founded. It's a secret. I'm writing this report to delay all divorce proceedings, if any were applied for, after the wife broke it off whilst a little misjudged swing, over the top. Now I say these things by experience. I was heart broken to see it that way. The first thing one needs to do is take a deep breath. It happens to the best of riders. Your dealer will tell you the same. Avoid any form of public display of anger. You will regret it and embarrass yourself and your loved ones. If "you" broke it, lean closer and try to stick it in before you panic. If your "wife/friend" breaks it. Hug her/them and first tell them it's ok. You have no idea how bad they feel at that very moment. They want your love and support. Do not be rude to them (like I was). In the end it is an inanimate object, which cannot take priority over human beings and their emotions.
                                I have a few solutions:
                                1) Araldite
                                2) replace the part after checking with your nearest ducati dealer
                                3) replace rear indicators with smaller, less intrusive ones (buy online)
                                4) go for a tail chop and take control of the situation. Be all macho and tell everybody-- "I was going to change it anyway" Bask in the glory of your inevitable mod. Take a bow.
                                5) keep the seat cowl on..ride solo :-)

for all the poor souls that go through the break click the link below..its a 696 thread but it applies for 796 too:-)
