Great to see that you have invested in such quality gear and such a fantastic bike. Have been a long time fan of the Monster and even more so after I realised they give you the option of swapping your tank covers for some pretty awesome combinations. Just love the Ducati Sport 100 option. I know I know, Im shallow!

After your writeup I too feel that the bike deserves better pictures. I think I might know someone who could give it a shot ....

Looking forward to seeing your bike for future Blore rides.

Congratulations for the bike! Wishing you millions of happy miles with the bike.

From a CBR250R to a Ducati Monster, is a monstrous leap.
Looking forward to seeing the bike at a B'lore g2g/r2g.

      My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

        See this - Covers

Bluevolt has one for his ninja and it comes with a heat shield for the exhaust area. It's thick, pretty heavy and very durable. You can even lock the cover to the wheels so no pesky kid will lift the cover and play mischief with the bike. Oh yeah, he has the rainex variant.

IIRC, Performance Racing Store used to sell them.
Looks good. I checked the PRS site and they don't seem to have them anymore. Will try calling them.

Well I must say sir, that is one awesome bike, no nonsense bike. Does what its meant to do and does it in style. Congrats. I too am contemplating a Monster 796 by year end. Lets see, if I do, well, i'll be fulfilling my childhood dream.
Thanks and all the best for your purchase!

Wife is not comfortable on the rear seat and the bike comes without grab handles. Have ordered them. Another option is to go for a touring seat.

But wife accompanies me only for small city rides but the intent is to definitely go around places. In that case, will have to go for a touring seat. Not now but a few months down the line...
anyhow would like to see 796 with few touring accessories ... and touring too... Guess the Ducati G2G has proved that it is good enough for long rides with the only draw back being wind blast. So you planning to get a small windscreen upfront to aid a bit in deflecting the wind blast ?

Anyhow will keep looking forward to all the updates and pics

FINALLY...... congratulations bro, been waiting for this news for quite a while now .Was out of Bangalore for a week and as soon as I came back this was the first thing I heard from Adi and quickly logged in to check if the ownership experience is up yet.
Loved reading about the gear too man, I have been looking for good gear for me and my wife too but not much luck (for her). Next trip should get me something.

Hope to see it in flesh soon

Will wait for a while before I add anything to the bike except fork sliders and grab handles. With regards to touring, haven't decided yet. Will keep posted. But I see no point in customizing a lot for touring because the bike is not meant for that. Probably a 200-300km rides with stops. That's it.

Sorry about that bro, had landed in Bangalore yesterday evening after a week long very hectic vacation. Got up early today but was feeling pretty tired so decided not to risk it.

Hope the ride was fun. Will join you for a one soon.

                Ride safe,

Yesterday morning, rode to Nandi Hills with Bangalore boys. I was able to open up a little (nowhere near the limit) and just played around with RPMs and gears. At speeds above 120kmph, I could experience severe wind blast. Further crouched a little and was more comfortable. Dealer tells me the bike cannot be taken faster than 210kmph during which the blast is unbearable with whatever position. The acceleration is very linear and a delight at the signals. Poserboys end up heavily disappointed when trying to race . The twisties of the hills also provided another opportunity to have a go at the handling bit. At tight corners and slow speeds, its sometimes scary because one feels the weight of the bike and has the fear of tipping over. At stretched corners, its a delight to handle. Didn't try complete leaning yet but did get to move my a** and open my thigh a little wee bit which aided the control.

Met lot of folks on the hills with their BMWs, Augusta, Multistrada and the regular Busas. The Augusta stole the show. I believe Aditya has the pics. It was a great first ride and looking forward to more.

It was nice meeting you Jayanth. The monster felt like an FZ16 only till the time the engine was turned on. After that it wanted to blow my brains out.

I have the pics. will post them soon.

Congratulations on the Monster, rode the same from Bangalore to Kanva at the xBhp Ducati G2G and the torque is indeed monstrous..

Comfortable seating position and the looks is what blew me, but was surprised at the kind of heat it generates in Stop-Go Traffic( my traffic riding time was about 30 mins).

A noob question here, how is the response of the motorcycle incase you have tried normal fuel, since it is good to ride on Premium ones(IOC Xtra Premium or Speed not the 97 octane)
Hammer the racetrack. Pace yourself on the street.

                              Thanks!

It does heat up a little bit but guess getting used to it is the only solution. Does it generate more heat than the R1? Honda CB 600F also generates similar amount of heat (103-104 deg) so I thought its kind of normal for this bike as well.

Haven't tried normal fuel so far, so difficult to comment. Am advised only premium fuels but guess will have to fill the normal one sometime or the other and will update then.

Word is that normal fuel increases the heat emitted..I am filling only speed 97..its price is a big hit on the wallet, but i guess in the long run it should have its benefits. I personally don't wanna risk doing damages to the bike by saving money today and "maybe" paying for it later..just my 2 cents...
