My bad...6K for the frame sliders and 2.5K for the fork sliders. And the battery tender cost me 12K. Will load up pics on how to connect it. A very useful accessory IMO.

Too bad you are not close enough to wave

Am having second thoughts about disclosing the source because I really want Mr Kanda's presence on this thread ....hehe anyway the source is the dealer himself. I had placed all these orders while booking the bike...

J, would you be kind enough to post the dealer contact details in our facebook group. I'm sure a lot of people will benefit from this information. I had asked PRS for frame sliders. They told me to tell them the details and they would look into it. I never got down to doing it. Put up your pictures on the FB group also ya and please do update your accessory list in the DIRD.
I still haven't bought a better helmet. Damn.

Went for a ride to Krishnagiri this morning with n_aditya and another friend Santosh (ID?). We were a bit skeptical of the weather since yesterday's ride was cancelled at the last moment because of the drizzle. The monster saw mixed roads and had the misfortune of hitting a couple of small potholes. No visible damage though. Its just knid of irritating to dodge the holes in the middle of Bangalore city which sucks $$ from every corner and provides the pathetic infrastructure in return.

Anyway, this was the first time I rode towards this part and must say it has its fair share of long corners and some good roads as we move away from the city. I thought today's ride was perfect for run-in where you can encounter trucks, jaywalkers and signals at almost equal intervals allowing you to vary the pace just right. I don't I think rode the fastest today but the long corners were very satisfying to conquer maintaining a steady 100~110kmph with occassional bursts of 140kmph on the straights.

A very good and satisfying day

It was awesome riding with you Jayant. It was great to hear the beast thundering all over the city and the highway... and with stock pipes.

                Time for termi's.

P.S. Will post the pics in a day or two.

I understand there is a change in power when one invests in termi's... and I get that that might be a huge motivation for bikers to get into it. What I dont get is...people investing their hard earned money to make their bike "sound" better? Am I missing the part where the sound of stock pipes is not enough? When we ride by..our friends and family and the regular janta are in awe of such machines. They are amazingly well designed. Yamaha, kawasaki, harley...they are all beautiful. Doing mods on a bike mostly could be associated with function or form. Now form is totally upto individual taste. A biker could be extremely happy with the stock parts or may go ahead and change stuff around to suit one's personality of more importantly one's individual ergonomics. Many a stock parts are changed due to cheap or bad design. I get all that. I fail miserably at understanding "sound". People spend lakhs and lakhs on sound! I guess a wise biker on XBHP is right...it is all about one thing..."Attention" I guess its cool as long as one is aware of one's actions.
So the point that I'm trying to make is..all out bikes are more than good enough for us..don't fall for marketing or advertising jargon..trust me..i am in the field..company's will sell you anything without remorse.
Also my apologies for the extended gyan. I mean no disrespect. Just personal thoughts on bike modification.

                    Motorcycles touch ones soul through
                    1. Visual cues (the way a motorcycle looks)
                    2. Audio cues (the way a motorcycle sounds)
                    3. Riding cues (the way a motorcycle rides)

Of the above three, all (except maybe the third one) can be considered as things done and indulged into for "attention". But can you take any of the above points away from a motorcycle ?
It can also be said that when a particular motorcycle appeals to you, that its gonna be purchased for attention and for pleasure of possession. I believe this where motorcycles score big time over anything else in this world, pleasure of possession.

But is it really just pleasure of possession and attention ? Or can it be passion too ?

How many engines sound the way vtwins or inline4s or tripples sound when plonked in a motorcycle ? What makes them a thing to be sought after ? After all if a particular sound is not common its gonna be sought after by many. I get PMs from some guys here on xBHP and on facebook who write that they run towards the balcony when the Club of Pune Superbikes and its riders ride to Mahabaleshwar after their quick gathering at Chandni Chowk. Why is it that they make a dash for the balcony on hearing those sounds ? Its cause for the rest of the day nothing is gonna sound the same to them. Its a sound they are gonna hear only on Sundays..its a rarity..whatever is rare is gonna be sought after. Thats Human tendency 101 ! Many of these school going kids aspire to buy a motorcycle just because they sound orgasmic. Sound breeds passion..not an unusual thing in the world of motorcycles. Isn't that the Yamaha Kodo philosophy too ? To scintillate ?
Its a world wide phenomenon, lest one jumps to the conclusion that this happens only in our Superbike deprived nation.

Now, in stock form..these bikes do sound awesome..but nothing close to what they used to a few decades ago when the sound emission norms didn't exist. To many of the vanilla motorcyclists..the muted sound is a blasphemy..its a sin..its a crime. Manufacturers can do little about it...but the owner..the individual can exercise his rights to HIS sound.

Further, have you had a new Inline 4 motorcycle whizz past you at 150ks ?
Not while you are standing still..say you are doing 150ks yourself..now comes another motorcycle and whizzes past you. Do you think you will hear it then in its stock form ? The answer is pellucid and the answer is blowing in the wind. You wont hear a thing. Cause your bike is making its own sound and then the wind blast is making you sound proof to anything happening around you. I am not pulling these things out my ass..no really..in stock form my blade could not be heard by my fellow R15 riders when i overtook them at anything above 130 kmph !

Lastly, loud pipes save lives ! Especially in a country like ours.
                    Here is a story :
I came back from a highway ride...parked my bike..got into the elevator and just then my cell beeped. It was a friend of mine who had texted me. It read something on the lines of :
"I saw you on the highway..you scared the shit out of me. I was taking a U-turn and saw a motorcycle light at a distance. I knew i could make the U-turn but then it sounded like something I have never heard before. By the time I realised what it is you had passed me. Thank god I didnt venture into taking the U-turn thinking its just a motorcycle. What speeds were you doing ? "

                    "200kmph +" I replied.

My loud pipe saved me that day from ramming into the side of his car. I don't know of other countless times a pedestrian decided not to cross the highway cause he couldnt figure out what was approaching.Thank god he didn't assume its a motorcycle..after all..it is a motorcycle..but its covering a football field every 2 seconds and there is no way the pedestrian is gonna be thinking that he is out of time to cross the highway, if it weren't for the confusing sound of sky falling over his head.

                    Loud pipes save lives !

I cannot write as beautifully as you Mr Kallan..but I hope you are getting my point here..Trust that I say it all not to contradict you or someone else's viewpoint but to broaden my own through such discussions.

                          Claps & whistles.
What an awesome write up.. Big fan of loud pipes here :d
i am sure you understand loud pipes better than anyone here thanks to that crazy racefit exhaust to the blade :d:d. Would love to listen to them. Personally feel they are the best.
Either i was going deaf or the last time i saw a stock fireblade switched on, i had to go really close to the exhaust to hear it :d
@kallan: Trust me on this brother. If you thought that the stock exhausts make loud "noise", wait till you hear an aftermarket can above 6k rpm. It is an orgasmic feeling (atleast for me) :d:d it is beyond noise or sound. It is an inline 4 choreographed music. I totally agree that it does irritate a few people around but then i am completely aware of what i am doing when i bought them. The bike transforms into something else with an aftermarket can. Yes it transforms!! Most importantly it gave me a lot of confidence too, i have no clue how but it did happen.regarding the price issue, if you are looking for just sound and very light increase in power then it wont cost you that much.
A BIKE ON THE ROAD IS WORTH TWO IN THE SHED

                            A long reply..appreciate the effort..

                            here is what I understand..

We install loud pipes to save lives...
We are riding our bikes high speeds, using our horns for public "awareness", rear and front indicating the shit out of every turn, so the ever too slow rider behind us can make a prompt decision to not ram in to us, even though he couldn't keep up with us anyway...cause you know he's slow...but we do all these things anyway...cause we are nice people...
It has nothing to do with Histrionic personality disorder.

We install loud pipes for the children...
We have superbike rides on sundays..we are together sharing the passion of motorcycling...we are thinking of enjoying the spirit of motorcycling...the fresh air..the clear weekend roads...the early morning silence...the peaceful sounds of nature...we all gear up for safety..we grab our helmets and walk towards our juiced out bikes in high speed. There is nobody around at these early morning rides...it's a sunday...people are enjoying their early morning cup of tea...reading their newspaper...still sleeping in...a young couple having their regular early morning argument...children watching early morning TV instead of playing outdoors...I hope you all know where this is going...

Keys go in...ignition fired...the silence seductively awaken by a deafening roar...orgasmic to some...unforgivably disrespectful to other mere mortals...different strokes for different folks..rightly put...
tea spilling...newspaper ruffled...children running towards the balcony...what is that sound..a collective gasp...I want that..turbulent couple stop fighting....the girl arrives at a quick orgasm with the sound and a fantasy of making love on these hugely expensive vibrators, erupts in her mind...she looks at her boyfriend and her eyes remind him of his inadequacies...he runs away in an effeminate fashion into the bedroom...

meanwhile, an approximate number of bikes have fired up...some of them enjoy loud pipes...some of them are unfortunately still in the process of making their decision...
a loud roar...another orgasm hit by a milf on the ground floor...
the bikes ride by..the women can't wait for the next Sunday...a dream formed in the minds of otherwise dreamless children...such inspiration...the power of the roar...changing lives...
we do it for safety...we do it for the children...
                            We all get it now...

                            Writer's note:

I would have STFU if people would just say "I,the biker" like the sound of a loud bike, because that was what attracted me when I was a little boy/girl....but then I "grew up" and I saw beyond the pompous sound and understood the "feeling" of freedom which only a bike seems to provide, the technical nuances of an engine and performance details. Associating a "loud" constant (possibly annoying) sound, to passion and motorcycling, which I chose to be associated with myself, is questioning all our intelligence. I wish we were all aware about what the real deal is. All I ask is to keep things real. We all have a responsibility..believe it or not...the kids are reading right now...
"delusions of grandeur" are best enjoyed alone...
                            just like biking...

having said all this bol bachchan...I'm not saying I won't look at termi's..never say never right... :-)
                            Don't forget to wave :-)

your bol bachan is absolutely bang on target. I was thinking on the same lines while deciding on whether to opt for an exhaust for my brother's R1. and ultimately we decided to enjoy the stock sound for a lttle while longer and then shift over to FFEs when we get *bored*.
You can take the ride away from me but you cannot take the rider out of my soul.........

While we are on Termis, here's the quotes I received from the dealer. Labour will be charged extra

                                Termignoni Slip ons :-

Dual oval racing silencer kit. Silencers are constructed with a carbon fibre sleeve and removable dB killers. Kit includes a dedicated ECU and a replacement high efficiency air filter.

Dual oval titanium silencer kit. Constructed from titanium, this pair of of silencers makes the bike lighter and produces a more rich and full engine sound. Kit includes a dedicated ECU and a replacement low-restriction air filter

                                Termignoni Full System :-

Complete 2-into 2 racing exhaust kit. System features oversized stainless steel exhaust pipes which use the same routing as the standard system for maximum efficiency. Dual carbon fibre silencers are fitted with removable dB killers. Kit also includes a dedicated ECU and a high efficiency air filter

I won't be considering them for this year
Opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one. And most of them are full of shit.
