  • Update: It's been a week since we stopped diagnosis. The valves are ordered and will be here soon. Once the parts come in, the Yamaha guys will fly in and do their job. It'll take another week or so

    But I've taken the opportunity to start working on converting my Raven R1 to a Stealth R1. The first of the carbon fiber parts are here and are going on.

    I've got a carbon fiber exhaust protector, and a carbon fiber silencer protectors. Next will be front and rear fenders, and after that frame covers and tank cover. Will be adding these gradually over the next two months.

    This is my source for the parts:

    This is the page for the R1 parts:

    • That's a good news. And carbon fiber addition, eh? Ur not satisfied with the present power to weight ratio and so going for more weight reduction?

      • I thought about it for a long time. Didn't want to go down the simple, full-exhausts, power commander route to get more performance out of the drivetrain. I want to make it lighter and get it change direction fast. Lesser sprung weight is always good

          • Waiting to see the raven back in action. I thought you were saying no more investments on your R1 since the official '09 R1 is coming soon?

                    Really? Have you seen it in the flesh, up close and personal?
                    The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

                            • There are a couple of 09s prowling around in Bangalore.. would've believed you if you were located here

                              @Maverick46: Nothing's changed since you called dibs man

                              @nitro: Thanks man

                              @Sarvajit: Yeah well.. I'm starting to oscillate between getting the 09 and not.. Too much of a financial hassle in getting the 09, and for what? It's not worth the upgrade for me at this point.
