What about SBKs in small cities like Raipur.
              1 CBR 1000RR
              1 CBR600RR
              1 Yamaha R1
              1 Aquila and 1 Comet.
Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

DHARIYA sounds more like Hariya lol

Okay add one more to the list from my hometown Ambala a Spanking 08 R1.
It will be really difficult to know the exact number since there are a lot of them in Small town of punjab, and Haryana and almost all over india.

better bet will be to contact all sellers of SBK's in India and get details of all the bike sold by them.

                      Yup...I was kidding.

I think getting anywhere close to teh right numbers is very difficult.

No perfectly legal sales channel of SBK's (untill Yamaha)
Even sellers will be reluctant to share the numbers they sold in the past - selling in grey market means they do not declare the Income tax on it
Many ppl bring it individually. For eg ppl returning from abroad and those who know ppl in customs.
As Akshay said many many small towns around India which have SBK's and those ppl might never come to any online forum like this.

Usually for very rough estimate of such figures we use available data. For eg, lets say we know the number of SBK's sold by one SBK dealer in Delhi, and we know (or can estimate) the number of dealers around India, multiply that number. We do not know either figures correctly or even close to approximation.

There is a single Busa, and a pretty old Kawaski ZX6R here on the roads. Any other Kolkatans with more specific knowledge, please share.

Oh yeah, as per hearsay...I've heard that 2 R1's have also been purchased, but dont know anything more.

                        ...simba
I have not seen either the busa or the ZX6R.... But i have seen 2 R1 recently...one blue and other black..both 07 version... I also read in TOI that a guy has purchased a 10.5 lakh R1............. There was a big article on that.....

i just donno why the no of SBK are very less in the east as compared to the west?
i just donno people of east seems to have no interest in bikes or whatsoever ....i can understand why there is no SBK in kolkata....because of the road conditions and the traffic conditions the killer out on the streets of kolkata make biking and death game/gamble but still the roads are capable of handling a SBK.. there are 100 of SBk running on the road in the south and the west coast ...and thats why the big bike companis are not interseted in opening up any showroom for the sellling and servicing of the SBK around here and hayabusa was kept in the suzuki showroom here for a month to attract masses..but still this philosophy sucks big time!!
people here in east should take up biking and SBk seriously.....seriously!!!
people in the east have moolah!! but i donno why they want to spent it on the 2.5 ltrs cars-- whats there in teh cars? i dont understand...

Can you give me a rough figure as t o how many superbikes might there be in total in India and in the following cities:
                              • Delhi
                              • Mumbai
                              • Bangalore
                              • Pune
                              • Chennai
                              • Hyderabad
                              • Kolkatta

Indeed a simple sounding question, but come to think of it, its pretty hard.
Referring back to Sunny's original query. We just need numbers in these cities.

                                Hey Fellow bikers,
There are a couple of SBKs in Guwahati. There are atleast 3 Hayabusas, 2 CBR 600, 1 R1, 5 BMW F650(rough estimate) and a couple of Dirt bikes ( Mostly Yam n Honda).
I have recently caught the fleeting news that a couple of more SBK's have been ordered.
