I have recently caught the fleeting news that a couple of more SBK's have been ordered.Originally posted by haxor View Postin my city siliguri there is one dragstar as i heard from some guy out here...never seen any SBK here beforePlease refer to the Sunny's Original post which I have quoted above. As much as we would want to know how many SBK's are there overall, for this thread, lets talk of the cities mentioned.Originally posted by harismahesh View PostHOW MANY SUPERBIKES ARE THERE IN INDIA ???

back in college,v had a discussion bout the same. a very close fren of mine who happens to be amongst the 1st to own the official R1 in Bangalore told me that, the rough estimate of SBKs in india would be around 3500 (in 2007). So a safe estimate as of today would hover around the 4500 ( considering the fact that SBK are available off the shelf 2day) .

sup ppl!! ill just inflict some pain to the wound for ppl living in kolkata....no offence though guys...just reality...the fact being that this city is full of "marwaris" and they have the money power...guys in marwari families r not even allowed to sit on a bike forget riding one and the icing being that they'll get a sbk someday?? (funny to even imagine)...i mean my friends come from some of the most affluent families out here....they're cool abt me riding but frowned upon by their parents.....more than the safety issue its also a prestige and class thing with them...i mean they look down upon bikers...which is sad but true....marwari men do ride bikes and goto to burra bazar (the business area) but thats bcoz they dont have a choice coz cars cant even think of gettin in there....so the biking scene is pretty sad....they prefer spending on cars ( like simba said) ....their way of thinkin is way different....i think im rite abt all this coz born n brought up in kolkata but been to all other big cities with good number of sbk's and their way of thinkin and functioning is very different.....not very good with writing so dont post that much but this was one topic on which i had to share my view coz the biking scene in kol depresses me...no sbk brand wants enter this city also....i dont know of a single sbk service station, forget station not even a person who would service it...which is preventing me from getting myself one...thats all folks....current sbk owners in kol plz help me out and correct me if im wrong....laterLast edited by SerialKiller; 12-03-2008, 01:35 AM.Never Ride Faster Than Your Guardian Angel.

Mr Serial Killer, I think you should think twice before posting something like this. I am sad to see that this is your first post. I hope this is your last too.

Since I started this statistical carnage I wish to use my own ammo on the battleground:
Delhi: There will be around 1500 imported bikes (400CC+).
Mumbai + Pune: 2000 imported bikes (400CC+).
Chennai: around 300 (400+CC)
Bangalore: around 1000 (400CC+)
Punjab: approx 1000 overall
Bhopal has lots of superbikes (no estimate)
Kolkatta: least imported bike count, less than 50 approx
Hyderabad: approx 200
Total: 7000 approx (7121 to be exact
).

I saw the busa sometime in May, i think around 29th or 30th, right outside The Park's main door (i.e. where all the cars drop off their passengers and then move off the parking) Everyone was having a field day staring at it, saying "now THIS is a real bike"! I must say - the new busa looks WAY better in person than it does in photos! It was an orange and black combo one.Originally posted by Jonak View PostI have not seen either the busa or the ZX6R.... But i have seen 2 R1 recently...one blue and other black..both 07 version... I also read in TOI that a guy has purchased a 10.5 lakh R1...
.......
... There was a big article on that.....
