Absolutely, the other day when I told my parents that I completed a 250+kms ride in less than 5 hours, they were shocked. In fact I myself was surprised and I wasn't feeling stressed out at all.

Thanks buddy! 11 years since my last bike hence the desperation the wait was killing me. In hindsight if you look at it, if it wasnt for the Astrologer postponing my purchase of the CBR, I would have been riding the CBR now. By the way I have promised my wife that the 650 is my last bike purchase

@sachinnair :- Why I am so hellbent on projectors is when you ride something which is as fast moving as the 650 there is just a split second to make a decision and I dont want to regret later, but then I see your point of view too.

Congrats on a good sensible choice. The 650 is a relaxed cruiser with good FE and stability.....the weight of course will bother you at times.
I am sure the Ninja will take your riding skills to a higher level,and promises will be broken..
Talk to the dealership regarding the Projectors,since any alteration will void your Warranty ,and if the job is not done right will leave you driving in the dark ,or worse still leave you stranded in a lonely place in the dark with no help....The Electronics in Fi engines are not to be tampered with,and so proceed with extreme caution.

Congrats bprags ....superb choice ...I too am thinking of getting myself one soon as I feel its the most best option available in India in that class .
Could you please give me an update regarding the ergonomics . I am not much of a speed freak , I rarely venture beyond 80 kmph hence ergonomics is very important to me .

@nashrider:- Thanks. Ergonomics are perfect I am 176 cms tall and I feel the bike is perfect for me. The seat has plenty of space, u can keep changing ur seating position without upsetting the guy sitting pillion. All the switch gears are easily reachable. You have to feel the switch gear quality, top notch the best I have seen or used so far. The ride quality too is top notch.

I congratulated you on teambhp and I am going to do it again here. What you picked is the best sportsbike this country has presently on sale. Very usable , very practical , enough comfortable , decently fast and looks good while doing all that. Ride hard , ride safe.

One Q, what's gonna happen to the Fiero now?

In case, you already don't know, why not talk to Mr Venkat of AutoService regarding projector fitment on N650? Last time I meet him, he was also talking about some N650 owner(s) in banglore running with steel braided brake lines.

Finally today I got the bike registered, the Temp Registration validity was ending on Wednesday and I had to get her registered. Had taken day off and when I woke up Wednesdeay morning was shocked to see the weather [raining non-stop since morning], finally had to ride her in the rain and I have to mention the front tyre has put a lot of mud on the radiator and the mud had dried due to heat and has stuck like glue to the radiator now. After the rain ride I feel a radiator guard is a must have and I have to do something to the front fender to prevent it from throwing so much muck. The bike was dirty with mud all over her, I had to spend a couple of hours to get her cleaned.


Since the registration is done, my bike will be lighter on sunday by atleast half kilo . The saree guard will go.

Dont worry buddy, I too have been through the same phase as you are going through and I can understand your state of mind. See I am already 35 and I want to live my life to the fullest, tomorrow I shouldnt feel that I should have done this, that etc.

You know what, when I had been to get her registered, one guy at Bajaj showroom said, you could have brought a car for that price, I did not say anything except a smile .

Thanks Navendu, the Fiero stays, I need a bike for my daily office commutes and the Fiero does that job nicely. If I take her to office, I have to park the bike in open and I dont trust people anywhere, they will keep fiddling with her. It is a pain to park her outside.
By the way I will be getting her serviced at Venkat's place on Sunday. I have spoken to him.

The other day I had been on a long ride and I parked at a Dhaba, another biker came on his brand new BMW S1000RR and had just stopped the bike and came in for a break and out of nowhere a moron went towards the BMW and tried to put his leg across her, you can imagine how pissed the owner must have been, he gave out a scream and that idiot went away.

An update from my side too.


First service done, the following was carried out


1) Motul 300v 15W50 FS. 1.8 Ltrs :- 15xx.00 Rs


2) Saree Guard and the front number plate are gone, fitted the left side grab rail :- 750 Rs


3) The usual bike service :- Washing, brake pads cleaning, chain cleaning etc.


4) Got the Zero gravity wind screen and R & G frame sliders fitted.


I must say with the tinted wind screen, she looks sexy. I just cannot take my eyes off her.


I need to go on a ride sometime later this week, I just dont get time for it.


The total servicing cost was around 4.8K.


I have to thank Auto Service for their wonderful service. I was asked to come at 9:30 AM on Sunday. They took the bike in at 9:30 and delivered her back to me by 1:00 PM. Two dedicated people worked on my bike and took care of her, the entire servicing was done right in front of my eyes. All in all I am a happy Auto Service customer..


Will try capturing a few pics over the weekend, till then keep waiting.

My bike still has vibes between 4k and 5.5k rpm, beyond that she is smooth.

Getting my bike delivered tomo... How much did you pay for the visor and frame sliders?

UrbanNomad:- Dont go for the visor, I would instead advise you to save up and get this Bi-xenon Morimoto Mini Stage III Kit (H1) - Complete Retrofit Kits from The Retrofit Source Inc, as the headlights are really bad at night. The frame sliders were 9.5K at PRS.

Yesterday night I had been on a 100 kms ride. Since the first service is over I have started opening her up a little more and keep giving her bursts of acceleration every now and then and then slow down. She is effortless.

All these years the cars on the highway have kept playing with my punny Fiero, now it is payback time .
On the way back, a BMW kept asking me to give way, but then I was moving at a brisk pace and he could not catch me, finally just before the toll, I decided to let the BMW go ahead and then opened her up in 6th gear, little did that BMW guy realize I was going to belt him, I over took the Beemer effortlessly and by the time I looked at the speedo I was already doing 155+.

She loves cornering, I thought she wont be good at that, she feels supremely planted in corners and I have got used to the brakes now, it feels a lot better after the first service.
