Thanks for the advise, I normally don't ride that fast on all roads, I do it only on specific roads but then u never know, when our luck might run out

Hello [MENTION=11053]bprags[/MENTION] Hope you are having the time of your life with your beloved(read ninja) and also nice lid that you bought.
I am pretty confused between duke 390 and ninja 650r. I know these two are completely different bikes with varied abilities. I know both of them have more than adequate power for an starting enthusiast like me and I have fallen in love with ninja 650 as i think its pure VFM right now in India. And I would be using her purely to calm my inner rider.
The only thing stopping me to go for the Ninja is the lack of ABS and that famous spongy feel of the brakes as I do not want to ride a bike which is easily capable of doing 150+kmph and feel the dreaded spongy brakes without ABS due to surprise visitors that I think purposefully jump in front of cars and bikes on the highways. So, if you can throw some light on whether your braking experience has improved after changing the braking lines to steel braided one and brake pads? And any idea if India would be getting the ABS version of Ninja 650. Otherwise I would have to go ahead with the Duke 390.
And how are those Marimoto headlamps doing for you any updates regarding them with pics would be appreciated.

After upgrading the brake lines and pads, the brakes have improved tremendously, the sponginess is gone. I am fine with it. I don't think Bajaj will launch the ABS Ninja 650 as of now, so forget it, the morrimotto's have been installed however getting the alignment right has become a pain, still the lighting is far far better than the stock. I will post pictures over the weekend.

If you have the money and plan to keep for some time then go for the Ninja, the big bike feel, the twin cylinders, exhaust note etc make it feel that extra special.

Hello from another N650 owner. I see you have installed morimotos. How is the illumination compared to stock. In my case i would like more illumination at night rides as the lack of adequate lighting is a big problem. Can you help me out with some knowledge of HID's?

@Nicky :- There is no comparison between the stock and the morrimotto's as far as brightness is concerned, the only prob with the projectors is, you need to find someone who can do the projector installation and alignment properly. The Projectors also add to the looks of the bike.

Finally an update after long time, the projectors are installed, though the headlights are far more better than stock they could get better if I get the alignment properly done. That is pending. Actually the 2012 & 2013 650's have less space inside the headlights for the projectors to fit properly, when compared to the 2011 650's.

Did a 500 km ride to Kemmangundi yesterday, brilliant ride it was. Kemmangundi is a hill station 250 kms from Bangalore. In rains it is mind blowing and heavenly.
By the way I got the second service done at 5K [1K kms early], surprisingly I got an FE of 24+ kmpl over the 500 kms ride, I wasnt riding slow by any means.

The oooh's and aah's while going through the village's and highway, tourist people in innova's and car's all keep turning back to see the green beauty, it is a little embarrassing at times.

At one place, I stopped the bike and went to a shop to get some water, some asshole happily went and sat on the bike . People just don't have manner's.

LOL. You will get into trouble if you use those words straight away. I just told him "Illiyo kelage", which means "get down", my tone was harsh and I look big and hefty when I am geared up, maybe that helps sometimes
