@nio & fireblah..Yeah mate.... yamaha has 08 R1s for India... i spoke to the yamaha guys in chennai but they say they have no idea about the 09 model.. i guess will be getting a 08 only now... the guys in ambal yamaha chennai are clueless about yamaha plans cos they simply don't have any interest to promote the high end bikes... i had to call them multiple times just to get the right on road price

dude i am an all time Suzuki man...i understand ure gonna be popping the k6 off as uve booked urself the '08 R1, the only thing I wud ask of u is to think about it...the Gixxer is a monster...trust me!

Its not certain , but Yamaha is set to launch 09 R1 later this year. I strongly recommend you to hold your R1 for a few months. It would be worth it.
Anyway, I am not impressed by yamaha for continuing "dumping" their old models in India. What a shame....

The only cause I will support choosing an R1 to that gixxer would be the R1 being an official one . Its not that R1 is any less of Gixxer, I too love R1 but that the Gixxer being a nice overall bike in looks, ease of use etc

@busalover42... i fully agree with you friend... after riding the gixxer for a week now am totally in love with this beast.... R1 is also a gr8 bike but i guess its not as comfortable and easy handler like the gixxer.... also i think it would be better to wait for some time for the 09 model of the R1... thnx for ur opinion... iam now a big suzuki fan myself now...

@fireblah... am totally inclined to ur thoughts ... i have made up my mind... i will wait for some more time before going for any other superbike. the gixxer has won my heart and am fully satisfied with the bike..

@nio.... R1 is a gr8 bike and very good looking too... but i had no idea about the gixxer before coz the only SBk i ever rode was my friend's R1 and was freaked out of my mind.... now after riding the Gixxer i can gurantee that the suzuki handles much better and is much more comfortable compared to the R1.. but ur point of R1 being 100% official is a fact u just can't ignore.

congrats josh for getting the awesome machine.
why do u want to sell it ? everyone is having the r1 but only a selected few is having the gixxer. it will make u special. you may buy the r1 but dont sell the gixxer let it be one of ur collections.

i think its better to mail yamaha and ask them about 09 r1 because here in ambal motors in chennai dono what is coming,most of the showrooms dono what bike they have we have to tell pls sir see properly the bike has come !

@amvj... thnx a lot dude... am plannin to sell the gixxer because i feel it is better to have an officially imported vehicle at the present condition... but after riding the gixxer now am more inclined towards the suzuki the price am expecting is 6.5 cos thats the price i got it for... the milage is around 12 kmpl ./. lets see what happens...


@ pulsar_flame.. i hv tired mailing the yamaha guys but have not yet got any reply from them... at present they are dumpling old stocks of 07 & 08 models in india so i have postponed my plans about the R1 till i get a clear picture about the 09 model.
