faiz, i am more than sure that guy is bluffing . He knows pretty well that if i come into the picture , there is no way that i allow my friends to buy that bike so he is saying that bike is sold. Even if it is true , then it will be less than what he said to you. He is good cheater, if you go to him at his home , you might find both the bikes with him

sorry faiz didn't check the fourm in weekends.
if 0.60 is engraved i'm afraid the guy's using local stuff coz pistons come in increment of stock,0.25,0.50,0.75 and 1.00,1.25.1.25 is 1.25mm oversize which is the last one.but yamaha said tht 0.50 should be max.ppl bore to 1mm usually.

I'll find out what indications were there on std pistons, escorts used ART first, later escorts mahle.

64mm is the stock bore size and 65mm shld be max.

colours-either red, silver, blue or black.the company ones suit it best.

oil in engine is 1.5 lts of 20-w40.
          post up any other doubt.

                Hi,
I wanted to know whether a stock RD comes with alumunium buffing on the heads or is the whole thing black in color ?

also which among these two will drive away heat from the engine effectively ?

Chandan I have not bought RD yet........want to make everything clear so that I don't have to worry about RD in the future.....will be buying it within 2 days.

Hello guys, looks like finally i figuered it out how this thing works. People forget passwords but I forgot my ID itself, well now enough of bungling up. I hope someone is tuned in at forum. I am planning to buy a 84 model stock HT. someone advice me what price it is worth for. its on stock piston, and engin never been opened for any part replacements and stuff. done approx 30 thousand Kms and contacts seem to fire pretty well in time synch. std crabs on 140/25 jets. but years of neglact has taken toll on cosmatic looks. thats no big deal anyways. am concerned about the dough I still might have to spend on engin after buying the bike.. so I need some price idea plus WHAT repairs/change of parts that bike MIGHT need whos 20 years old and done 30000 Kms to clock so I get trouble free ride in future, sunny please enlighten, btw chotu is offering a UP number bike on last recommended piston, 83 model, asking 26 K for the bike.. you think its worth as much ?

r u in delhi?if yes first u have to verify the claims by lifting the heads and barrels.checked by a mech can tell u the truth.26k is ok if engine is in ship shape and bike not involved in collisions.

hi rajnish, yes am in delhi, actually an old K Bagh resident, so I know almost all the tricks of the trade these dealers employ to plam off absolute third grade stuff, done-up 'basnati' is what I call them. chotu's offer was good but somehow last piston bit wasnt ok with me becz last Escort piston is fine but what about connect rods and cam? am a sucker for real clean bike, so dropped the idea. Last week having a late night visit to pan shop and suddnely I hear a sound so rare I almost forgot last time when I heard, pure unadultrated sound of stock piston going ring-ding-ring-ding and i just went beserk on the spot, chased this guy and found him at next chowk pan shop! heavens were good on me and sent this guy outta blue with a std piston, 16000 on odometer, mint condition ( i mean engin only ) I have closed the deal for 34 K. but there is very little cam rattle and she needs new rings, apart from that nothing needs to be done on engin, U can imagine if chors at karol bagh offering me 22-24 she has to be a neat bird. I had a trial run at ridge road and she went upto 125 kmph, no gear slips no heating over. so tell me shd I disturb the engin down below for that slight cam rattle or not and since piston is ok no seizure marks I chked but rings are gone. Do you suggest soft NGP or hard TP rings to compansate for the compression.

Hi Rajnish, the barrels are down, and piston is fine but I cant get std rings even for price of gold in K Bagh some crappy chinese stuff in genuine Yamaha blister packing is what all in here for now. another prob is right side crab is gone becz some wayside mistry with previous owner had put in a thin screwdriver thru n thru and blown off air-breather valve resulting in persistently irreguler fual intake and in long run is caused a slight bottom-end rattle in connecting rod. you have any suggestion about where genuine TP rings can be had in delhi and a new set of crabs as well. I had put in a old japanese HT crab on standby and the problem got solved right on. so tried on put in a small jet .20 jet in that old crab and run it but the irrugaler firing came back in bare 5 Kms, loks like the mistry have messed with crab more then just air breather. Jam masjid and khan market have drawn a flack so far. One guy is selli9ng a set of second hand from disposal bikes for 2200, which i think is a bloody rip off. am not going to touch the bike till its fixed, so sad. I tried the yamaha RXG intake menifolds connecting them with U band with both perfactly tuned crabs but somehow the idling gone very irratic, chked the timing too, but it wasnt ideling well and after a high RMP spin crbs were idling much higher then I had set them. You have any sugestions ?

there is an air leak tht's y it's not idling.take the bike to chauhan or govind(joga).get a pair of carb kit which has all new parts, clean the carb well and install them.original rings r npr.if not use tkr,i feel new carbs r not needed these can be repaired fine, check manifolds and intake and reeds for air leaks.
