Thanx rajnish, i have managed with an old jappo crab how, chnaged the slide for LT mod, working ok now, there wasnt any leaks tho. got the bottom end on cam done at sharma, he did a fine job. govind was saying connecting U band intakes is going to deflect top end curve, altough he wasnt workin on my bike but he saw the never-opened-engin block, said 'hey bhagwan' and hit the ground. Later we were locked in a small argument about std or .10 piston rings on std piston, he said stick with std rings but am telling him if even helper rings are not able to cover the gap whats the point putting std rings, better sand file a .10 and run a std piston for next 12000 atleast esp when cam is tuned as well, rather then going for a re bore, I think LT will suit my riding style now, i dont have that kinda time of HT days when one wud be sitting with mad crack chauhan every six-eight months for an overall beside 10-12 years back spare/service situation was whole lot different then what now it is. Its frustating to see shoddy workmanship on sleeved agra made ART pistons being taken for wheelies saying 'saab dekho kya mast gadi hai'

hi guys... i need some help from u people
i am new to u r forum.. so i did not know how to post a new topic
that's y i am replying to this post
i have a small doubt to be cleard:
i am from mangalore and want to buy an RD and am still in search for a good deal
added to that i do not have knowledge of any good mechanics around mangalore nor do i know any mechanic in mangalore
so if i get an offer of some RD i have to rely completely on personal driving experience to know whether the bike is in good condition or not after having a testdrive
( i have driven a well maintained RD before but it was only for some 2KM distance )
is there any way i can make out whether the bike is worth buying simply by test riding it
or are there any other things i need to look into
thanx in advance

for a RD in 15k expect engine to be in need of overhaul, points and cam may need work, paint and tyres too will need attn and cosmetics too.LOL seems like a lot but let's face it,15k will not get us a good bike, but we can have a bike having a sound chesis and a working engine.then we need money, resources, knowledge and patience. Also is the bike HT or LT?
A decent bike HT will do 140+ and LT 130+.This is true speed, meter will show more.\'87 High Torque RD 350B

thanx rajnish
u r advice gonna be very precious for me on this weekend cos that is when i ll be cheking out the bike
as for myself, i am expecting the bike to be on points and runnig decently on it's fourth oversize with decent RD style pickup and not so good looks
but i have one small doubt : (i hope u dont laugh) --- what does the term cam mean what did u mean exactly by saying that the cam may need work... does that involve lots of vitamin-M

Cam is the thing which moves the point set and give accurate timing, costs less than 400rs but try sourcing a original one.looks like a small metal shaft.bike is on 4th size?which pistons?is the bottom and con rod pair original?try to take a good mech and lift the barrels, then picture will be clear.if no or minimal play in connecting rods,no damage to liners and ring gap is proper,go for it.\'87 High Torque RD 350B

Rajnish...i found a a RD 350 fr 12 k but dropped the bike as dint came up to my expectations here are the specs let me know the decision was fine or no
1) Body was Painted
2) Tyres were of CBZ
3) Chasis were is conditions but were rusted
4) Meter not working
5) Engine was down (was opened for work was filled in a gunny bag no idead wht all were missing)
6) handle bar was modified
7) Silencers were of RX
8) Oil seals were not orginal
overall i felt like it was fine but gave a next tought for the engine as he was not ready to reassemble it..left for us to do it
Wht do u think if u would be in that place...!!Waiting for the right Pedestrain, to run over!!
