Need tips for buying an RD HT/LT
I had decided to buy an RX100/135 last week, but after I saw the RD Specs and videos in youtube I have changed my mind, but the asking price is huge.
The price ranges from 70k to 200k. But I have no knowledge of engine rebuild/spares.
I want to know the best price which should be paid for -
1. Already rebuilt and spares replaced.
2. Non running condition.
I also want to know about
1. Cost of replacing critical engine parts?
2. Where can I get the spare parts?
3. A lot of rebuild involves reboring, where can it be done? What is the price? How to decide on the size of piston? I guess reboring requires oversize piston?
NOTE : I have seen UK online spares sites and they are charging 1 GBP for a nut + 3 GBP for shipping! Some spares are reasonably priced but out of stock.
Are spares available in India? (Mainly engine components)
A lot of help is needed.
Thanks in advance.

brother i am also a big fan of an RD since my school days good bike no doubt but the bike demands a very heavy maintenence in spares and qualofied service men who exactly know the prob of the bike it's not any road side mechanic job, when i was in college during my 90's i used to see my seniors riding these RD's i used to ask them how's the bike and details, came to know from them like bike demands every thing in big amt,big gas,big service charge, big time for repairs, big time to get spares, which all of this is available in less or nothing, same guys started selling their bike for 20-25 thousand and bought new RX100 but they missed their old RD's but couldnt help it.
firts thing keep in mind when ur buying an RD no spares available secondly arranging for spares might take unlimited time till then communicate by walk, bus or if u have another bike in spare, third to get a qualified mechanic for an RD who really knows the inside out of it is difficult to find,no proper tools are used for servicing,be prepared to always visit the gas station as as RD will not give u more than 16-18 kmpl.
finally one day u will get fedup and say maine meri g_ _d mara_ _
by buying this scrap!!!!!

Firstly, maintaining an RD is not easy. you should be well prepared to pump huge amounts of money if you plan for a re-build. spares are available in India but its like a treasure huntOriginally posted by niaz_be View PostI had decided to buy an RX100/135 last week, but after I saw the RD Specs and videos in youtube I have changed my mind, but the asking price is huge.

. Importing spares is another option but its costly. almost all the engine components are imported now. if u seriously consider owning an RD, better go for good one in running condition. for engine re-builds, u can contact Ron chinoy from Bangalore.

I too need one in same condition. Even without engine spares would work for me. With papers. Doesn't matter what is the registration place.Bikes don't leak oil, They mark their territory.
