@Sanjitjoseph: Congrats on your acquistion! This is an expensive affair so be forewarned Out of the parts you've listed, except for bore rubber, everything else is easily available. I would suggest you to take a look at cycle parts/rubber parts/cables and replace as necessary. While at it you may also want to take a look at your seat assy. With age, the plate tends to corrode. Unsolicited 2p. Hope u dont mind.
@sixspeedtwin: Thanks mate for the input... what does '2' represent in 'Y-2'?

@NitinGirish : Thankyou Nithin, yes I know its an expensive affair, so I juz planned to do them in step by step and between I can collect more info from all 'Xbhp'ians. Last month I have replaced few other parts, I will list them with a snap of my bike. and Yes I have noticed some rust on the frame and seat holding part. Last week I have removed all the rust using sand paper, applied primer and repainted those parts. That work done by myself....

Bore rubber parts- got it from Yamaha spare parts stokists @ cochin ....Suggestions & criticz are always welcome mate..

That's what I thought too. When you say transmission? did you mean crank assy and gear box or something else? I'm sure we are going love this fact-finding of lost era!

The numerals after the letters Y or G are production series numbers denoting either different OEM manufacturers (Yes even Yamaha Japan does not make everything themselves) OR minor tweaks / improvements to the casting and / or portmaps ...

Yes sir .... even the frames were made in Japan ... also I have heard (very reliable) of a Nov 1985 RX100 and I OWN a May 1985 printed workshop manual ....

But I also think the 1985 batch was sold in north India only ....

I have also SEEN a CB-points version of RX100 imported into India in the early eighties !!!

Isn't RX100 initially produced in Japan only for Indian market? Was that ever catered to their own country? Offcourse, I was going through some reads on the internet that RX100 was available in Argentina/South America even in recent years. Did not read if they were Japan produce.

Sweet ride there Sanjit. Request you to share more information on the lighting set up. I am extremely interested.

Pic1 above, what part is that? Looks to big to be a 2T oil pump and 2T oil tank is made of plastic
More pictures of pic2 would be nice.

Also bore rubber kit, are they OE I mean in Yamaha packing? Again, humble request for pictures.

Finally, your feedback on the tyres and your reasons for the choice.

Sorry for so many questions!! I was infact, looking for pointers in all these areas. Hope you don't mind

                              Thanks Nithin........................
                              sorry for the late reply..

Regarding the 90/100 light setup Im getting different opinion from different people. So Im on the process of getting more info for that. And 90/100 light kit from RD Dreams are no more available, Just heard like that...And at present as advised by Nitesh, Im thinking to get 90/100 light kit from Ravi Nagesh,Bangalore.
H4 bulbs wont get fitted with OE headlight setup and Im too particular in keeping the stock look for my bike. Hella has got the reflector + glass set which can suit H4 bulbs and Nitesh helped me to source one.You can contact him for any help in getting one or I have read some where like using DCM Toyota's light setup for H4 bulbs to get fitted and keeping stock look. But reflector set from hella will be a good choice..

Pic one is 2T Oil Pump from pricol, Photo is taken too close that is why it looks lil bit bigger in size.

Bore rubbers are OE ones, And the shop people promised me that some rubber parts which I have asked for can be collected in next week.

Im 100% satisfied with MRF Moto-D 2.75 tyre. Moto-D was the Tyre recommended by my friend for better grip and the rear tyre size shown in the owners handbook was 2.75.

The front tyre, MRF Rib was recommended by my mechanic. He told me that 'for the front tyres go for only line tyres and you will get a smooth ride'.In the owner's manual the front tyre size was 2.50. But I have chosen 2.75 since 2.50 will look tooo narrow.

For RX-135 I think the Tyre sizes are 3.00 at rear and 2.75 in front. I have read like 'michelin' has got some tyres with good feedback. Consider them too.
And you can get it clarified from Arun(Bigbore),karthikdattag,Sriramefunds,Nitesh(Ya mdoot),Ram,Satish,JD,sixspeedtwin and other seniors here...

Sorry for so many questions!!..hehe??!!!...Asking questions and getting them clarified is the only way to gather info which is gonna help to keep our machines clean and run for a long time....we all are here to help each other...even more questions are most welcome....I have gone through your thread...and you are getting ready for a Job...all the best bro...Me too have got a lot to learn from you.
