No chroming or buffing. Simply send it for Zinc plating/ galvanizing to give them a new, original look. Should not cost you more than Rs. 50.Originally posted by sanjithjoseph View Post1)Original tool set came with the bike. See the 'RAJDOOT' embossed on them. At first I thought of throwing them away and get a new tool set, and now only Im noticing the embossing 'RAJDOOT' on them. Im going to do chrome on them and keep it.

Thanks SriRam. First of all I should says thanks to Xbhp and then to all the members here. After joining Xbhp only me got the right spirit and came to know how special these bikes(2-strokes) are.Originally posted by SriramEfunds View Post@Sanjith - The above pictures are simply great. Especially Y-2 bore!! You have a special machine, treasure it. Mikuni Carb from the initial batch were embossed Made in Japan and till about 1990 (If I'm correct).
Thanks for the info mate. Yes, its written "Made in Japan" and "36LOO" on the other side. Do post those pics, don't forget..!!Originally posted by sixspeedtwin View PostYes folks the last lot ones are Mikcarbs .... infact I have also seen late RD350s with Mikcarbs .... will put up pics asap
The Mikuni will say "Made in Japan" on the other side.
.Me always love posting pics and observing/enjoying pics posted by others.
Thanks for the Suggestion Nitesh. Will search for some galvanizing center in Cochin.Originally posted by yamdoot View PostNo chroming or buffing. Simply send it for Zinc plating/ galvanizing to give them a new, original look. Should not cost you more than Rs. 50.YAMAHA RX100 - 1986

You can ask the chrome platers. Its the same coating what we do on the various nuts/bolts during rebuilds.Originally posted by sanjithjoseph View Post

Ram, I think Vaishak is at home now and you can collect them from him.Originally posted by dual disc 200 View PostThanks Alok..It is now in the hands of someone who won't be able to identify...I'd have to travel some 70 kms or so to get it or i'll ask them to courier it..Let me check it & get back

I have seen many using 'buff', 'chrome' . Whats the difference between these two actually?Originally posted by dual disc 200 View PostThis is now turning out to be hidden treasures....! I'd buff it to give the rugged looks whereas the Chrome will leave the tools with scratches when used...!

Few Bikes which I missed in my life:
1) BSA (Birmingham Small Arms) : The bike owned by my uncle and sold in early 90s. Even today my father who (owned RE350 that time) was telling me that, he used to enjoy the ride in BSA a lot than RE350. The only thing left now is a black and white photo of the bike in which my uncle is riding the BSA bike. Think that photo is taken in early 80s.
2) RXZ- 5speed(Blue,KA Registration) : During Engineering College life(2006). One my senior bought a new Karizma and He told me like ' Do tell me if anyone interested in buying my bike(RX-Z), Price 25k'. The bike was in a showroom condition. He used to take care of his bike just like how we would take care of a kid.
3) Yezdi : During Engineering College life(2008). This Yezdi was in fully chromed finish including the fuel tank. The bike was with the seniors, they put the bike for sale when they were going to finish the course.
------------------------------
All these bikes I missed, The first one only because of the reason that I was a kid at that time. I could't do anything with that. Second and Third due to the reason that I was not knowing the value of these bikes and how special they are.
Wish I could go back to those ages. So that I will be the owner of BSA,RX-Z 5 speed, Yezdi and RX100. hehehe

It was nice to read. You've not lost any, because you own a RX100 of initial batch for your salvation and be proud. Yes, things like you missed did happen to me as well. When I wanted to buy RX100 in 95-96, was deprived due to the fact my parent asked me to complete graduation. I completed my grad in '98, RX100 was stopped in 96 itself! So thought would own a RX135 (just entered market) and again had a chance to buy RXZ, but settled with RX135 because it looked similar to legand 100. In 2004, Y.A.S.S even offered to convert into 5 speeder. My conservative mind did not accept for the fact 'why spending extra money for just for one extra gear'? See how noob I was!Originally posted by sanjithjoseph View Post1) BSA (Birmingham Small Arms) : The bike owned by my uncle and sold in early 90s. Yes, Thats the only relief, atleast me got the legend RX100 and that too from the initial batch. I think the only thing we could do now is to preserve our bikes which we own now and not to miss anymore, the chance to own these beauties at reasonable prices.Last edited by sanjithjoseph; 10-06-2011, 01:20 AM.YAMAHA RX100 - 1986
