Samurai - Simply the no problem bike
Model : 1999 Sep
Odometer reading: 59,000 approx.
modifications: None
The engine and clutch plates have not been touched and she still runs like a dream. I am able to mange about 52kmpl consistently now.
parts replaced:
-choke,throttle cable
-all indicators(all broke in parking)
-Both front and back tires( Back was replaced immediately after purchase and the TVS tires were horrible to say the least), The front was replaced at 40k kms as it showed signs of ageing.
-Chain sprocket( at 10k kms , My father was duped by a *(&(*& Mechanic even though it was not at all required)
-front foot peg rubbers twice ( all of pathetic quality)
-Kick-starter rubber

Great restoration there sir, I wonder how much time effort you had to put in to source all the parts and also restore. Kudos to youOriginally posted by powertwin View PostAfter going through this thread all these days.....thought Only scary fast & Indo -Jap machines are the ones eligible to find a place in this thread....after seeing Doots &!!!!.. even my Bond is eligible here>>

Went a lot of hard-work for the rebuild but its paid off well.
Cheers !
That sure looks like a neat bike. From the snaps one can hardly tell that those side panels and tail piece are fabricated from metal. Any idea where these can be sourced or made from in Mumbai or Hyderabad. Also I am finding it really tough already to get spares from my beloved samurai 99 model. Could you direct me to a good spares dealer.

Your restoration would be among the top class ones that we see here in our forum and else where as well. I am extremely happy to see such a beautiful classic rescued and restore to her former gloryOriginally posted by Crankrd View Postanother 2 stroke before & after

my latest aquisition
hi everyone, this is atul. I live in port blair, andamans and just a couple of days back i got hold of a 4-speed RXZ for 15k and it seems pretty decently priced to me for the condition it is in. Am the third owner, its done over 65000kms so far, dunno which size the bore is running but the engine needs an overhaul. The best thing about the bike is that both the speedo and the tacho, all the indicators etc work flawlessly, which i didnt expect
the handling, alignment and braking too is good
right now i have started hunting spares forthe bike, i guess i will be able to start the restoration in 2-3 months. i have a few doubts, 1. the silencer has a little bit of rust near the clamp and there's no plating centre here in andamans so can i do anything to remove the rust?? 2. is the rx-135's chain cover a direct fit for rxz, am concerned about the space for shock absorbers! 3. can i use the bend pipe from rx-100, since a new piece is available here. thanks

As the talks about the Z is all over, here's what I'm restoring now.
The Cream white is of my friend who has left it with me a year ago for complete restoration and will come back to life in a month as almost all the work is over. The red is mine, which I'm gonna start the work from Jan 2012.

Whenever there is a Rainbow in the sky, I know it's u mastering the art of Cornering. U will always be remembered brother, R.I.P Arun.
