OE shox would have looked even better. If that was your choice to have sns spring shox, ok. Buy a microfibre cloth and rub. Don't do with rags or some dirt old cloth as they cause scratches. Take the bike to ECR and complete the run-in. For run-in, pour little amount of oil apart from 2t oil pump for safety. Take back all your old parts back so that it might come handy when needed.
Thanks Sriram. I'll post some more pics tomorrow. You own a big share of credit for this restoration, thanks for guiding me throughout. You should see the bike, we'll meet up this weekend for sure.

Who cares As long as it looks glossy, I'll be happy to buy it.

@ Badri, mind considering the standard Escorts Shox? This seems like an eyesore to me..

If you're thinking about comfort point of view, i'm sure the OE shox does it's job pretty well...

Agree. The SnS shox was one of the very first items purchased. But as the build took shape I realized it was a mistake. Bajaj dealer here was not ready to take return, so only option was to dump it and get the Escorts one. Instead I decided to keep it for the time being, so that I don't entirely waste the money spent, but yes, at the cost of losing the OE looks.

I rode Badri's bike on Sunday during his visit. The job well done.

            Painting - Very good
Cosmetic- Good ( except SNS shox and TVS50 headlight doom)
            Engine work - Excellent

It had a good pull, engine is crisp. Throttle response is way too good. May be because of 3rd oversize? Brakes were excellent. I envy his brakes. (). Throttle needs to be adjusted since ply is too much.

I feel the time spent in the garage is worthwhile.

Thanks for your encouraging words Sriram, glad that you liked it.

Ply have been cut down now, the bike zooms with a slight twist of the throttle. Got the IND number plates fixed today which was the only pending work. Didnt manage to click photos after fixing the plates, attaching few other pics taken earlier this week.

The restoration has turned out good Badri. One question, are those OE Indicator assembly (Yamaha Packing)?

I personally prefer to have Minda packed blinkers who is also OE supplier.

Sriram i have a question for you. We all know that Minda was the OE supplier for Indicators. Now we have 2 cases here:
                        1. Indicator in Yamaha Packing, OEM for the same being Minda.

                        2. Indicator in Minda Packing, again the manufacturer being Minda.
So is option 2 non-OE or Fake?

@Badri, sorry for going OT in your thread.

Your statement 1 and 2, both packing are genuine, however, in different packing.

Also, I guess there are other suppliers to Yamaha apart from Minda.

                            The bike looks stunning Badri.
My friend also owns an RX135 2004 4S, which he plans to restore. I had created a thread in Help Me section for him to identify good workshops in Chennai, which didn't get much fruitful responses as I expected.

But my friend's RX 135 2004 4S model is having the normal casing.

Hi, that is a job well done.
Congrats on your new bike. Enjoy owning it.

Where did you get the reboring done? (Chennai)

I have almost finished getting all the parts.
So all left is to find a mechanic to do the strip.
Find a painter and chrome shop.

Between what tyre size did you get.
I have bought 3x18 and 2.75x18 Ceat. Is that ok ?

I bet Sriram was of great help. He did the same for me.
