  • Project RX 135 Factory Rollout

Hi guys, i have already started a thread asking how to convert rxg to rx 135.
over the time i have collected a few parts for the complete rebuild of my Yamaha RXG to RX 135. So i thought of starting a new thread.
Like most people here in this forum i too like 2 strokes and i cant think about riding a bike other than 2 strokes.in college days i too was much passionate about bikes, especially yamaha and shogun.
sadly by the time i was about to buy a bike, its been almost 8 years since the 2 strokes where out of production.
My choices were Shogun, RX135 5 Speed, RXZ 5 Speed, RX 135 4 Speed, RX 100
After going extensively through this forum, considering the availability of spares i ruled out Shogun and 5 Speed RX. So it was about RX 100 or 135 4 Speed. considering the a minor increase in bhp i opted for rx135.
Like the old adage, its better late than never.I wish all the hardcore 2 strokers help me in this project
Though the title says its a factory rollout, i know its an impossible task.but i am trying to bring out something that is near to a factory finished product.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Here comes another question for you. Does the 5speed crank case a direct fit? I have read that its for the small autolube pump. Iam not at all planning to fit the autolube pump. So can i fit the crankcase?

Does anyone know whether the inner crankcase of RX 135 is available? Is it same for 135 and 100?

By looking at the parts catalog of 100 and 135, have to believe both are same.

                            Both have the same crankcase.

thank you Sree and Yamdoot. i just bought the crankcase set. Now i have to punch the engine serial number on it!

The part i still have to get is the crank assy. is it difficult to get one??

right now i am confused with the paint scheme. personally i like the Blue colour. since the blue colour tank is no more available i bought the maroon one( though black on chrome would have been better, personally i dont think the thick golden stripe of 135 gel well with the black) . Now i am seriously thinking about repainting it to blue.. though colour is a matter of personal choice, i would like to ask all of your opinion.
How will the RXZ blue look on 135? have anyone seen the new FZ limited edition blue. does it look good on my 135.
does any one know the shade of the RXZ racing blue??
                              please give your opinions!!

In between,, how to identify a original magneto??
