      Friends ...

Nice update - the handsome RTZ is a runner.
Took to the road the first time in probably a year. Some work needs to be done:
      - rear brake too loose
      - every now and then hear a sort of slap sound from the chain
      - speedo doesnt go over 30kmph , bike does.
      - some elec fixes- indicators etc.
      - see some smoke leaking around engine, not sure from where. Have fixed new cylinder gasket and tightened the nuts too hard already, any more and they might lose thread.

But all in all, feeling great. This forum has been an imspiration and guide, esp kb100 and psr.
Enjoy some pics of the handsome boy.

the smoke leakage fill in all probability from the bend pipe joint at the megaphone, or from the bend pipe joint to the cylinder, for the joint for the meghaphone, you will have to purchase a silicon sealig ring and replace the one which must have gone hard , and for the bend pipe to cyl joint you need to check the copper ring gasket there

        btw wonderful job buddy,

Good to see the KB 100 RTZ Delta engine bike in finished condition as a runner....Hats off to you for the perseverance and dedication. The Exhaust like Sarin ,said normally leaks at both the cylinder end and at the Megaphone silencer end...The way to get it right is to loosen the two bolts at the cylinder and the neck tightening ring nut at silencer end....then first tighten the Cylinder collar bolts fully, all the time slightly shaking the silencer to make it bed in , in the angle, and then tighten the Ring nut on the silencer with ONE complete round of Asbestos rope in between the bend pipe and silencer..

One nice job one more 2stroke getting rebirth, beautiful restoration kb100, to find the leak put your hand or some cloth at the end of the exhaust mouth and then idle it hard you will find the leak.

              Thanks kb100.
The black ring that goes into megaphobe-bentpipe joint is new. And so is the copper gasket at engine end. I suspect the screws arent tight enough.
There is no leak from the megaphone-bentpipe joint though.

Yes, the spares scene really did test my patience.
              Will try what you suggest.

                Wow, that's an effort!
Kudos. So many fake, cheapo spares all over but you have taken great pains to restore the originality.
Spark plug - let me know if you need it. I got a couple.

The rectangular box under the tank in KB100 - is it a resonator?

Oops, just reread my comment and it seems to give a wrong meaning - meant, despite the fake spares in the market, you have done well to get good stuff.

^^ try Pannar Automobiles near Marayappanpalya, Rajajinagar. this is a one stop shop for all bajaj parts - including RTZ

                              Hi VK

Did you get the float assembly for the KB 100 from the said store ?
Mine isn\\\\\\\'t working, and I need one too.

Btw, does this fuel indicator need battery to work ? My bike doesn\'t have a battery, so maybe the fuel indicator is fine but not working due to no battery. Hence asking.

                              Regards

                                Hello Friends

After restoring my KB100 RTZ, now I am preparing to restore the BOSS.
Thanks to psr, I could get the complete workshop manual for the KB100, and it really helped me, since I did all work (except paint) on my own.

But am unable to find the workshop manual for the Suzuki Shogun anywhere.
                                Can anyone help ?

Btw - have already procured the BOSS, its about 16 yrs old and in okayish condition. Will start a new thread when I start work.

                                Regards
