If you want the typical number plate, I can send it across to you. It's of Suzuki's MAX100R and it costs around 50 bucks.

Ride report:-

Sunday 8th June
Chennai - Mahabalipuram - Offroad - Chennai
Round trip - 68 miles (108 kms appox)

I just wanted to take the bike out on a long riding road. So kept my Sunday blocked for RX-Z to run on East Coast Road (ECR). Took off early as 6 am in the morning, to avoid traffic and aim to return before I'm shot down by sun.

Rode around 20kms and took a small break around Toll plaza to check the heating. Well, I was able to keep my hand for 1.5 seconds. As early in the AM gulped water to quench my thirst. Thought its going to be long thirsty ride today.

Parked my bike to check the plug color. To me, it slightly on the lean side.

So closed half turn on AFR and rode back home, offcourse not missing the breakfast at Motel Mamalla.

Reached home with 68 miles on the trip meter. Again looked at the plug and to me there is a slight change in color but not very convincing.

I'll have to check the carb settings again. Either move needle up and open the AFR or close the AFR further and check the result again.

Sriram the Plug color shows ideal AFR...may be a little bit rich, and your CDI is giving out good Spark Power . You can leave the setting as it is and observe the FE ...

I have no problem with the throttle response, infact, I realize late that have already crossed 4k RPM.

Thank you Sir. Tell me about it, I was all scared to see the light brown, may be after some more run, could turn out tan brown. Right now, as advise, shall run the bike as is. Will do 500 kms on odo and check. Still floating on Main, so I'm waiting to hit reserve so can check FE.

Ever since lead had been removed from Petrol, plug reading had changed. The slight chocolate color is acceptable....No RX under normal driving will give above 45 Kms per liter of Petrol....that too only in " Uncle mode ". The best I got was 40 Kms per liter... If you get more FE then be prepared for a short engine life...

Sir

Is it necessary to perform plug-chop to get accurate plug-colour reading?

Plug chop is not accurate ,and is done to get a look at how lean or rich an engine runs ...The correct way to do it is to Select a long stretch of road with very litte traffic, run engine upto operating temperature, then do the speed you want to check the AFR for, and pull the clutch and switch of engine...coast to the side of the road and now take out the plug and read .
The best way to do is to have access to a Pollution check up system and doing actual exhaust gas analyses .

Re: Zeus - A story of RX-Z restoration

Sign of trouble?

Today decided to take the bike to office. On the way wanted to go cellphone shop before heading straight to office. After unsuccessful search, took my bike towards office, there was something which was not right. The bike was dragging and then kind of flat wheel. Then it seem to be the front disc brake being jammed.

The worst part is, it started to get further worse that I was almost running nearly 4k RPM and speed was just 20-25kmph. Managed to reach office and check the front wheel, the disc was boiling hot and further jammed that there it won't move at all. Desperately searched for a mechanic opposite the premise. There was one shop but the guy was not present. So when I returned, due to some cooling, the wheel became free.

RXZ stock disc brake set up
RXZ stock fork leg
RXZ stock Disc plate
TZR Master cylinder
RXZ brake lever

I should tell you the brake is very good all the while. Now the bike is parked at office safely. Wondering if I'll face the issue once again?

So its just going to be a release by unscrewing those bolts and put back again? I need to look into this in detail. psr sir, any thoughts on this?

Could that be the spring inside the master cylinder must have worn out? This is alarming!
