Dey Badri...if not for you I'd have ended up completely wasting the weekend. As it is, Rossiter and I had plenty of fun working on the bike and testing it for a while before he had to head to the airport. I went on to ride it afterwards for a bit longer...so the day was salvaged.

Next time we'll send up smoke signals at the track...even the Vatican will think they have a new pope when the TZR gets fired up

Smoke signals are tougher to trace. Better drop me a call or sms!!!

P.S: Sorry for the Sunday, caught up with some personal work...

Phew.. been a tough and crazy few days. Couldn't present my version of events.

In short.. we had huge hopes for the weekend, and prepped for it.. booking tickets, getting stuff together, but we forgot to do one simple thing.. check if the track is free

Anyway, it was a fun couple of days for me in Chennai, working on the TZR, and hanging out with GS and Raju Sir is always a hoot. Apar joined us for a few hours while work on the Teezer continued at it's own pace.

Finally on Sunday, by noon we took the Teezer out for a spin. I was following in GS's 62 Enfield 350 (Something which scared the shit out of me for different reasons), while GS snorted around. He wasn't happy with the jetting, and looks like we'll have to head down again to the track and sort it out, with Raju sir's guidance. But on the whole, I'm hooked on to the Teezer experience. The thing just propels you in the powerband.

Awesome.. no two words about it. Can't wait to see how it does when the jetting is sorted out.

Hopefully by then, the R1 will be sorted out and we can have the whole trackday shebang to chronicle.

Oh yes, GS on a Scooty was hilarious. Raju sir and me were laughing our asses off tailing him

                On to the next trackday!

Actually i think there is going to be a track-day on the 10th that is supposed to happen with quite some members scheduled turn up, don't know how far that plan has got, but you can check the chennai thread about it, that is if you have'nt already read it

Nope. Things moving pretty slowly now. Still waiting for the Chambers to be welded and hydroformed, fairings to go on, jetting to be done...etc. etc.

New tank came in and is in great shape so that is one less issue to deal with.

I won't be in Chennai for a while so not really in a rush myself. Rains starting soon and track-days will be difficult. So I guess this really is a September-October kind of time-line from a realistic perspective.

                            • Actually the only thing I've been glued to is the driver's seat of my Ford Ikon

I've done plenty of riding on the MT-01 in the monsoons. Covered 5000+ monsoon KMs and I've had it with the wet weather. The bike is in Bangalore...I haven't seen it in the last 3 weeks and I am just not bothered anymore. You may call me a "wuss" but when the wet conditions wrinkles the skin of my fingers, toes and wedding tackle...enough is enough

On a brighter note - taking the MT-01 to Rajasthan in a couple of weeks for a 5300km road-trip. Should be fun...

On the TZR side of things - I think my initial estimate was pretty accurate. The bike is slowly but surely heading towards completion. I should be able to ride it in anger soon. Sad part is I might consider selling it to a discerning buyer once the work is done and I am happy with the feel of the bike. I can't commit the time/resources to do justice to the TZR...but all this is just idle thoughts at the moment. I am certain that once I take a lap around the MMSC track on the TZR - everything else will just Fade to Black...

                              Cue Metallica!!

When I complete one of your paragraphs and start reading the next, its one bloody contrasting change man. Not seen the bike for 3weeks/riding the bike to Rajasthan in 2 weeks. And when talking the development of TZR/you say you may sell it, and then again, you deny it completely after you imagined having a track on the TZR. Dam n you GS
