its quite simple, heat the top patti that holds the mudguard and bend it upwards.

It would have been tough to get off with the bull, I guess.. but the final product is perfectly worth the sacrifice, isn't it?

                            • Hello all, apologies for my absence... its been a while and this bike has been long sold off. I afraid to say this, and I hate to admit this but unfortunately the mod job was an utter failure. But then I figured it might help someone else not commit the same mistakes I have.

1stly the suspension did not work. The uni rear shock and the p180 forks were simply too stiff for the lightweight rx. Always weigh up the shocks before a transplant.
the front end felt too vague and detached from the bike. possible suspects can b a heavy 19inch steel wheel and unbraced lengthy fork units.

the acceleration was terrible. possible suspects were a heavy drum from the unicorn and steel rear wheel from the 180. (oh and bullet spokes..god am a noob)

only good aspects were cool looks, nice audio and a comfy and tall 5th gear.

I hope this'll b a good lesson to other wanna-b dirt bike builders as it sure was an eye opener for me, unfortunately it was quite an expensive one.

so in short, things you need to keep in mind if u r modding a rx,
please go for gladiator forks and never ever fit the damn wretched unicorn mono-shock. Get aluminium rims and remember to brace your forks if lengthened. And yes I could hav done these changes myself but me wants to go 4 stroking as I really missed the torque. So next up is a Kzma once i sell my buzzing, annoying, vibrating piece of **** ie - rtr 180
lookin for another corny line ??

                              • Hey ! its been really long! Its never too late to admit mistakes and what makes you great is that you dared to do it on the forum. Not many would do it.
I loved the looks of your RX and it still reminds me of very early YZ's and DT's . You can still have a lighter susp. etc but since you dont seem to travel that road again i wont say anything. Keep posting though
