If you remember, advised you to go for 180 mains, as this is not the stock carb and expects more to be thrown out, however, when pony 165 was plonked it could not make a proportion correct. We would need to test with 180 to see if engine settles for good.Originally posted by aargee View Post

Impact of 165 main jet
Message for Psycho98 & update after fixing 165 main jet
One word - 165 main jet has crapped the entire bike
I'll be uploading a short video as its more easier to understand over a video & then explain. Anyway, here's the sequence...
From 0:00 to 0:10 - Staring the bike
From 0:21 to 0:36 - Holding the throttle continuously at one position; this is the place at which the throttle is felt constant; anything opened beyond this is explained after 0:49 & anything less than this is explained from 0:37 to 0:48
From 0:37 to 0:48 - Closing the throttle (rotate hand forward)
From 0:49 to 1:27 - Opening the throttle (rotate hand reverse) with 1:27 at highest point; beyond this the engine shuts off
From 1:27 to end - Random throttling
I don't know what's the issue; when I test rode, first time one spark plug lost its sparking power & I'd to change the plug after which I was able to start. I rode for about 1.5 Kms totally & I could not cross beyond 60 Kmph & 5th gear, after which the sputtering increases & the engine shuts off unless I close the throttle & give random throttling.
Hope the point is conveyed; pls let me know what's going on? At this stage I believe deploying even a bigger jet (more than 180) will help as 165 is supplying lesser air+fuel mixture to the cylinder. Am I right or wrong?Last edited by aargee; 10-13-2010, 06:18 AM.

saw an really nice modded rx today....
that guy had made it into a 3 cylinder rx300 using 3 rx engines....
the 3cylinders were placed side by side and he was using 2 rd350 exhausts with sum mods inside them too....2 cylinders going into one exhaust and 1 of them had a seperate xhaust for it.....
at first i thought that its a twin cylinder rx100 and chased that guys for a few kilometers but couldnt quit catch him until a redlight....were he showd me the bike and explained about it....also boasting about its superb pickup

They're not direct fit to Rx. Req to go through previous page, where I've shared the info as what needs to be done & which parts to buy. Even with Pulsar, you need to get the same setup done.Originally posted by f1freaker View PostHey Bro Are these Direct Fit to our RX bikes ? have my cousins bike which needs disc break, mechanic said go for pulsar, can you give the breakup price of the parts involved please
Price - Not to offend you, sorry, there're quite few people, who simply ask about the price & go back hibernating. In a way, what Karthik does is right on the pricing. So no disclosing the price unless someone is serious about it.
Instead, I would suggest you get to the market, find out the parts that are required along with their prices & post it here as if those prices are reasonable & there're experts here who WILL guide you.

These are Glad's part; finally one more missing part
the bottom tube of the front suspension!!!
Thank Sri for getting me the parts.

Along with this, I got the 165 main jet
& don't know how to identify the size of pilot jet!!! - Thanks Psycho98 for your suggestion.
@Sri - The existing Rx's front axle is not a direct fit & need to be customized. So for me, its almost a direct fit with the existing suspension bottom. When it comes to you, you've to drill a slightly bigger one at your front suspension bottom & obviously get a front bottom for the disc side . Can you help me with that also pls? I need it ASAP so as the work goes as planned this weekend & test it on Sunday.

Araey no boss, even RX's rear axle is suffice, just a small juggad for Rs 60 will work the magic. I'm not sure if Glad would be a direct fit, otherwise, there's always juggadsOriginally posted by SriramEfunds View Post^ I shall try for Gladiator front axle rod and I hope it fits just right. In my case would change the existing bottom of that of Gladiator's with axle rod. Would take pointer from your installation.
@Sri - The bottom of the suspension pls? Can you help?

Nope; bone stockOriginally posted by karthikdattag View PostBy modification i meant modifying the barrel. Is it ported?
Yes, the stress is reduced, but dip, I'm not sure how to explain; let me give an attempt.Originally posted by karthikdattag View PostThere should be some noticable dip in RPM in 5th gear as compared to 4th gear. The engine stress reduces in 5th gear, thats the main advantage.
The dip cannot be compared to any of the shifts from 1-2;2-3;3-4. Its way better than all those & the pull is almost similar to what I experience in 4.
Couldn't getOriginally posted by karthikdattag View PostThe advantage of using 15/38 or 16/37 with 5-speed GB is that, it feels like a close ratio GB & always giving you an impression of being in Power band.
Yes that's the point; the optimum cruising speed of Rx is built around in 80's & the entire engineering is built around it. I like to follow that. If I need to cruise in 100, I need to buy a one of the moderns like C5/ZMR/P220/RTR.Originally posted by karthikdattag View PostAnyways, as long as you are happy with the bike's performance better to keep it the way it is.
I remember Arvind Raju once said - One cannot fart more than what he eats; If Rx is designed for 80-100, then it does 80-100. Period.Last edited by aargee; 10-08-2010, 01:42 PM.

By modification i meant modifying the barrel. Is it ported?Originally posted by aargee View PostDefinitely no dip in RPM (I like that too), but there's definetly a pull in 5th gear.
Which means, 5th will never go beyond 100 & 4th will never go beyond 90
Modify you mean as in 15/34 or the ones you recommended?

Definitely no dip in RPM (I like that too), but there's definetly a pull in 5th gear. I mean something like this...Originally posted by karthikdattag View PostDo you actually feel any dip in RPM when shifting from 4th to 5th?
1 - 0 - 10
2 - 10 - 30
3 - 30 - 40
4 - 40 - 60
5 - 60 - 100
and the acceleration is a decent pull
However, if I do this...
1 - 0 - 30
2 - 30 - 50
3 - 50 - 70
4 - 70 - 90
5 - 100. Period!
Which means, 5th will never go beyond 100 & 4th will never go beyond 90
Say, about 30?Originally posted by karthikdattag View PostAnd what is lowest possible speeds you can pull of in 5th gear without the chain rattling?
Explained above in 2 scenariosOriginally posted by karthikdattag View PostJust explain in brief as to how is feels from 1 through 5 gears.
Modify you mean as in 15/34 or the ones you recommended?Originally posted by karthikdattag View PostSince your bore is just 12BHP, this setup might just work out fine, but once modified, then there will be no pull in 5th gear.Last edited by aargee; 10-08-2010, 01:04 PM.
