    jokes aside it might be possible as every bike sold in this country is strangled to meet emission norms and for fuel effeciency and most of the foreign versions of bikes sold here make much more power like the rx-k or the gto... alsoif you have not started reading about 2stroke tuning i suggest you start now with "2stroke tuners handbook" by gordon jennings if you want i can post the link

      @kb100......that would be of help.........but he would most probably talk of turbo charging the vehicle.Now thats not possible for me and my vehicle wont permit it easily.

        @mach50: dont worry bro , there is no such problem here....this book deals with the basics and fundamentals of 2stroke tuning , it was written in the seventies during the golden age of 2strokes and the word 'turbo' doesnt exist in this book , ill also send you a copy of 2stroke performance tuning by graham bell ,it is much complicated than the first one....

          Hey guys,

            I think I own a Shogun.........its my bike
            awesome bike, at 24 bhp it can smoke anything.

                RDD dreams Cdi's are mainly for Yamahas.......do they have a custom Shogun Cdi available???
                It would really help, as I have heard of RDD Cdi's increasing mileage too !!!! Along with mind numbing power !!

                  @mach50; i dont think that the cdi alone will give you "mind numbing power" ,there is a thread in the twostrokes section in rddreams.com you should defenitely take a look at it btw ypu have to register there to view it

                    .........ok mind numbing power is an overestimation but the total package will surely give it.......I have had a registration with RDD too......but due to absence of Shogun tuning bits I never went very active over there.

                        You have to port the cylinder block. Let me give you a case study of a RX-Z 5-Speed Vs. RX135 5-Speed,

                        The RX-Z 5-Speed had the following mods:
                        1. K&N RC1060 filter / Pipercross filter
                        2. VM24 with bigger jets
                        3. NGK Iridium Plug
                        4. Stock 5-Speed Cylinder
                        The RX135 5-Speed was fully stock (Factory settings) as compared to RX-Z. We just took out for a friendly drag between the 2, and trust me both the bikes were running side by side, the speedo unit hitting 110-115Kmph in 5th gear, the only difference that the RX-Z was making lot of noise coz of the filter.

                        All this talk of Air filter with upjetting increasing the BHP or Torque figures is just crap. Don't fall for it.

                        The major chunk of power comes from the cylinder, it has to be modified. Keeping the inlet & exhaust port same & only fitting a bigger carb with some fancy filter will give only stares from the girls & not performance.

                        Long back (2yrs approx) we had tried this stuff on a friend's Shogun as well, but nothing really happened. Our RXs were just eating out the poor thing. Porting is the key for 2-strokes, engrave it in your mind.

                          Porting it by how much.......the 110cc already runs titanic ports !!!!! Thats why I wanted to know what was the porting specifications on the SupraSS...16bhp out of 98cc !!!!

                              Porting is very much possible even though the port sizes are quite big. There is a similar problem with 5-speed bore kit (4TL10), the port sizes are quite huge compared to 4-speed bore kit (4TL00). Thats why too much porting of 5-speed bore kit is also tough but not impossibe. If the bore kit is over ported then there is drop in pick up & quite frankly this setup will then be unfit for city use, becomes more of a drag setup or some wild setup whose power band starts at its own will.

                              Buddy, i would advice you to open the bore kit & check the condition of it. Look out for a very very good mechanic who knows what is he doing. Shogun parts are very rare to come by, so you need a guy with 100% commitment.

                              16BHP out of 98CC OR 30BHP out of 138CC, only TVS knows the answer.

                              The bottom line is, Indian 2T Suzuki's are not as mod friendly as the Indian 2T Yamaha's, as far as General Public is concerned. The know-how is definately less as compared to RD/RX series.

                                I know that. If, Expansion Chamber (EC) was fitted on both the bikes, even then both the bikes would have performed similarly. Only porting can make a noticable difference between two similar 2T machines.

                                Trust me, i have tried all sorts of stuffs & combinations to arrive at what i have mentioned.

                                FYI, there are many 4T bikes (P150/Uni/ZMA etc) & scooters (Activa/Deo) in my area who fit K&N and think their machines have become ported RXs or RD350s. Its only the sound which increases, nothing else.

                                Try it on your bike, with & without K&N or any performance filter for that matter and picture will be very clear for you. Even with EC fitted the BHP gain will not be too much, i.e 12 cant just become 16 or 17 with only EC.
