    20Kmpl !!!

My heavily modified 5-speed RX gives 26-27Kmpl on Highways & around 24-25 in city. And yes this is with ripping. Did B'lore to Mysore trip (total distance 168Kms) & completed the trip in flat 2Hrs 15Mins, single ride, full blast with only 1 stop to attend nature's call. This comes close to 74.66Kmph average speed, with Top wack of 120Kmph ++. Even then my bike returned 26.5 Kmpl.

My modified 4-speed RX gives around 30Kmpl in city & much more in Highway.

You need to check your bike tuning mate, coz i have know of Shogun's giving more than 30Kmpl.

20Kmpl is way too low for a 11.8BHP machine. Thats all i can say. Happy riding.

    • Shoguns are always heavy drinkers. The RX we swapped for the 'Gun actually returned 60.235 kpl with gentle riding (though it did that only once). It generally returned 35-40 kpl. We'll get an RX soon enough, once the 'Gun is healthy. The RX will be regular, while the 'Gun is the junky's fix

Anyway, we recently found that the compression of the engine is kaput, and we're close to locating a stock size bore-piston kit for the 'Gun. Once it goes in, hehe, even with 25 kpl, we'd be happy to burn a hole in the stratosphere

      • @karthickdattag
its not a stock shaolin mate
its runnin 0.5 size vr150 pistons thats close to 160cc
        28mm honda nsr150 carbs , expansion chamber n a diff cdi
so 20kmpl aint that bad considering all this n i usually ride it in a richer setting

            • Thats coz you keep it that way BB.. ive seen Shoguns with half the age of our bikes n they were on their final stages of life.. but dont worry, we've got enough parts to keep both the bikes running for years to come.

                  • ok guys does any one have any knowledge about how to extract a true 130kmph from a Suzuki Shogun with a pretty good acceleration like-say a RTR180 ???? or if its possible at all....modifications no bar.

Please dont prescribe a RX I am Shogun Specific.
Also what kind of modification like Rectangular swing arm and front forks should done on the bike to keep the bike stable at that speed ??? Please help,as I see now many pro 2 strokers are now in the thread.

If I say..........ample amount of stocks dating back 1996........from a TVS-Suzuki workstation back then....how would it sound to ya ??? But its only accessible to me,now does that extract anything from your mind ???
                        Any ideas for a 130kmph Shogun ???

i dont think it is a matter of stability rather its the capacity of the engine to produce such power which is beyond doubt there and that being transfered thru the drive train
i feel that it can be achieved with sprocketing easily at the cost of acceleration
but to get both would require a nice setup
lets say flatslide with a better intake, proper ex chamber , a little strip down
and a bit of porting i suppose

Will VM22 do,for a flatslide with better intake ??? Stock Shogun has VM20.
Proper Expansion chamber.......if you are telling to develop it,no tuners in my city,if you are telling about buying it off shelves..........I can though. But would Stock pseudo expansion of Shogun be good enough to shape it at the back whatever bumps have been given to the engine, like porting, fibre reeds, bigger crabs, free flow air intake ????
a little strip down- do you mean weight shedding ???? I dont want to make it a drag bike,it should be a standard one, good enough to run alongside a Karizma after 110kmph.
Porting....hmm,if I increase only exhaust port, would it do??? or do I have to increase all other ports too ??? I wonder by how much the over sized ports of the Shogun should get increased........

                              • i would suggest u go go for rx 135 carb with a bigger jet n freeflow filter
regarding ex chamber its a trial n error process n yes some of the pseudo stock chambers does the job pretty well
its said that shogun bore is already overported n i dont have any first hand experience regarding porting so let the experts give their views
i think this would be more than enough to beat a karizma i guess that is around true 120
if u still need more i guess sprocketing would do the job
