i think this would be more than enough to beat a karizma i guess that is around true 120
if u still need more i guess sprocketing would do the job
    I think VM22 is RX135 carb,but I dont get bigger jets idea.........what is it,aint stock jets on VM22 already big enough ???
I am gonna use a KN..........when it comes to Free flow filter.
Apart from that I am grinning, everything is falling in place
Sprocketing is really I am opting for, because a beefed up Shogun wont need an acceleration biased sprocketing, unless someone wants to ride the bike on the rear wheels for always.
The stock sprocketing on Shogun is 13/44...........I am gonna tryout a 13/42 or a 13/41.........
I have already acquired the fibre reeds and the irridium spark plug to compliment it.......

    • @Mach50.. since how long do you own a Shogun and how long do you wanna keep it? it all depends on the above.. i think you already know the Shogun is a race derived engine the team TVS-SUZUKI developed long back and its no point comparing it to any RTR or whatever.. a Shogun/Shaolin is no longer a primary bike to try all the experiments. its already ported best by factory standards to beat the bikes of its era n thats haw it should be kept.. if you have a big cache of engine parts u cud prolly think of attempting such a thing. else enjoy in its stock form.[]which is still more than enough i think]

I own since 1995.........and its going to be with me forever,I mean as vintage stuff, when its road service would be finally over and I would own a Superbike, that is time wise in the next 2-3 yrs.I dont have problem getting the parts.I am having the problem of doing a good mod on it,to extract just two more HP out of it and a bit more on the top end.Thats all.I wont need a 24hp 110cc 2T.I just need a 17PS 110cc 2T with good top end and with long time cruising sustenance.

        • @ Mach50: Well, I already told you that the 17 bhp thing was a not a very good idea. The old race bikes used by TVS used to run 99RON fuel to develop that kind of power, so no point trying to do it through pump gas (which is 87RON anyway). Instead, do what me and the other nutter intends to do, restore them and accelerate.

@ everyone: We messed up the 2T and shorted 3 plugs in a week on the Shogun, but now it's running perfect, and purring like a very moody wild cat .

its not a stock shaolin mate
its runnin 0.5 size vr150 pistons thats close to 160cc
            28mm honda nsr150 carbs , expansion chamber n a diff cdi
so 20kmpl aint that bad considering all this n i usually ride it in a richer setting
Even mine is running with bigger carb + rich setting + EC + etc etc.

What is the top speed your bike is doing right now?

And FYI, mine is a Ported 5-speed bore with 0.5mm ART piston.

Something can be done, but is it possible for you to send your Barrel+Head to B'lore?

Can arrange an EC as well, suitable for the mods done on the Barrel. PM me for further discussion.

You mean with Final drive biased more to acceleration, you are getting better top end !!!!!

thats not a good top end it is just around true 115 coz it just crosses 120 on speedo
so i ve to try out a sprocket ratio less than 2.7 for better top end
and its got enough low end torque
currently it does wheelspins on the third gear in the powerband on dirt track with a sub optimal clutch
its a nice feeling to side slide at around 60kmph

My 14bhp Shogun used to go 112kmph in stock conditions with stock sprocket settings of 13/44......highly biased for acceleration.
Beefed up power and lower final drive can bring my machine the top-end I think.

                              You are wrong ,
                              Kawasaki Wind runs 14/44.
Suzuki Shogun runs 13/44,if you own a Shogun which you have bought from the showroom, check the owners manual to confirm. If you dont have that then, take off the rear tyre and check on the sprocket In case you dont own the Shogun at all .........trust me
